2019 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse is a great example of a vehicle that saw enhancements for 2019 out of consumer recommendations. Consumers spoke, and Chevy engineers and designers listened. Now we have a new second-generation Chevy Traverse that gives consumers just what they want at just the right time. In 2018, the Chevy Traverse had record sales, selling more than expected in just 8 months. You would think the popularity of this vehicle would reflect the fact that it needed very few changes, but engineers and designers still took the time to make a few updates and tweaks.

And if you are curious and want to know more about the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, we do have some insider info to let you know what will soon be available this fall. The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse is considered a CUV or a full-size crossover utility vehicle. This is the biggest vehicle offered but can still be tweaked to have a more streamlined look, in line with something more mid-range. But it is considered to be at this point even more popular than the Chevy Trax, the Chevy Equinox, and even the up-and-coming Chevy Blazer.

The introduction of the 2018 Chevy Traverse started the second generation of the Traverse nameplate, but Chevy obviously wanted to make the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse even more exciting than its predecessor. Everything about the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse gets better with every generation. Everything is lighter, sleeker, and more modern than ever before, the most expensive trims, High Country and RS, are both eye-catching head turners that are surprisingly more affordable than they have been in the past.

With the 2018 models of the Chevy Traverse, it was necessary to upgrade to the High Country, which is the most expensive trim, in order to get all of the features that Chevy has available for crossover SUVs. But that was at a steep cost, up to $52,995. This gave buyers and critics both huge sticker shock. So, Chevy went back to the drawing board and provided more of these features in its base models, severely bringing down the price. Overall, the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse is engineered to be an incredible value filled with the latest features for drivers with even the strictest of budgets.

Improvements

The 2018 Chevy Traverse saw an improvement to its wheelbase, and the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse saw growth to its wheelbase as well. They will be another two inches longer than its predecessor. Chevy also continues to improve the Traverse in width, length, and height.

This is what comes with an SUV mid-range crossover, you can have a size the comes between the smallest and the biggest. And for most, that is just the right size. The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse will continue to be all about space which is impressive since the 2018 Chevy Traverse model was already pretty spacious. But the 2019 has room enough for 8 when the 2018 Chevy Traverse had a maximum of 7 passengers. In the past, that seventh passenger was in a tight squeeze.

The spacing between seating has also improved, as critics noticed that the 2018 Chevy Traverse was lacking in this area.

2019 Chevrolet Traverse Power

Power

There are many reasons why the Chevrolet Traverse is one of the most popular models in its class. This ultra-competitive midsize SUV was successful due to Chevy’s commitment to updating, upgrading, tweaking, and refining every Traverse to make it better than its previous generation.

2019 Chevrolet Traverse drivers will notice immediately that they will never again have to choose between power and efficiency. Every 2019 Chevrolet Traverse now comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. This engine really delivers performance and can get up to 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is impressive and allows the 2019 Traverse to tow up to 5,000 lbs.

With the 2018 Chevy Traverse buyers had access to the ever-necessary standard all-wheel drive, but only when they upgraded to the High Country trim. This is no longer optional and encourages drivers to drive in more inclement conditions and maybe do a bit of off-roading. Previously this option would run buyers up to another $2K, this is just another way that Chevy has worked to make these options more accessible to buyers on a budget. Chevy also continues to ensure that the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse engine is as quiet as ever and can get to 70 mph in the blink of an eye.

2019 Chevrolet Traverse Interior

Interior

The exterior changes on the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse are noticeable but are not the most exciting changes according to critics. Instead, it is a few other features that excite them about this new line up. These include the addition of the all-new automatic heated steering wheel which replaced the outdated user-activated heated steering wheel. And it does just what it sounds like it does, automatically switches on the heat for you when the temperatures are unbearably low.

The other changes that buyers will find are the updates to the trim packages. The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse Cargo Package loses from the 2019 Floor Liner Package its LPO-level integrated cargo liner. You can now only get the Premium Carpet Mat Package with the 2019 High Country (2LZ) trim. Regardless of the trim you choose for your 2019 Chevrolet Traverse you can still expect every standard interior to be spacious and versatile.

Keep in mind that space and versatility was how the original Traverse made a name for itself. There’s room enough for 8 passengers with the front and rear combined in the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse so no one is cramped or uncomfortable in this vehicle! In addition, there is an extra 23 cubic feet of space for cargo, even with all the seats are ups and people sitting in those seats. This is an extraordinary amount of space. Once you go through the simple process of folding down the rear seats you then get an extra 98.2 cubic feet of space. Imagine what you could do with all of that extra space in the rear!

The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse now has lots of features that continue to increase space and comfort. These include Smart Slide seating, the all-new hands-free liftgate, and the strategically concealed underfloor rear storage.

Exterior

The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse did see plenty of changes to its exterior, including getting that all-new Premier badge on the liftgate which is exciting for everyone who gets the chance to see it. Buyers will also notice the all-new bright roof rack cross rails which is a different approach to the roof rail tread seen in older models of SUVs. Once buyers decide they want to see those new roof rails on their SUV, all they have to do is purchase the Premier (1LZ) trim or the High Country (2LZ) trim. The purchase of either one of these is great when combined with the Hit the Road Package.

The Hit the Road Package is a great and fun addition. It streamlines the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse to provide everything the buyer is looking for. The bright colored roof rack cross rails are the latest craze for the Traverse. Previously, for the 2018 model, the roof-rack cross rails were black. If you do prefer that look you can still get the black cross rails and the black units if you purchase the LT, RS or Redline Edition.

The final changes to the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse exterior come with the removal of 18-inch aluminum wheels in Bright Silver and machined face painted. You can still get the wheels if you purchase other trims such as the 2FL or 1LT trim level. Apparently, you can tailor your Traverse exterior now to your tastes. If you like something, purchase the trim that has it standard, if you don’t like it, purchase the trim that removed it. With the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, customizing your vehicle is easy. The 2FL or 1LT trim models have the 18-inch Bright Silver painted aluminum wheels standard, if you were worried about missing out on them.
