Chevy SUVs

The latest SUVs from Chevrolet include the Trailblazer, Trax, Equinox, Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, and Suburban. Each of these models is packed with incredible safety features, as well as great comfort and convenience features. Chevy has always taken pride in producing quality vehicles at reasonable prices, and it’s hard to argue with their current line-up of incredible options.

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer

Opting for a 2021 Trailblazer means you will enjoy a spacious and versatile five-seater with a sporty two-toned roof. Although the Trailblazer is on the smaller side for SUVs, it makes smart use of every inch with passenger and 2nd-row seats that fold flat, 40/60 split-folding seats in the second row, and an available hands-free liftgate. Its max cargo length is 8.5 feet, and there is 54.4 cubic feet of cargo volume available, so you won’t have trouble finding room for everything you need. If you’re torn between the ease and driveability of a car and the perks of owning an SUV, the 2021 Trailblazer is the perfect blend for you.

Starting with the base L trim, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with a 7-inch diagonal touch-screen is standard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make it easy to stay connected, along with Bluetooth audio streaming, for up to two active devices at once. Chevy provides a generous package of safety features right off the bat, including Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Forward Collision Alert. When most brands require expensive upgrades to take advantage of high-tech features, Chevy doesn’t hold back in giving customers what they want.

2021 Chevy Suburban

The 2021 Chevy Suburban has a starting MSRP of $56,500 and lots of keen upgrades to brag about. Built on the Chevy Silverado 1500 platform, the Chevy Suburban is a large and powerful SUV with an expansive three rows of seating. The Suburban is one of the longest-running SUVs, and the 2021 model introduces the 12th generation. Three engine options, an upgraded infotainment system, and enhanced safety features elevate this already capable and rugged SUV to a new level.

The Suburban’s standard engine is a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Next in line is a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. For maximum fuel efficiency, drivers can opt for Chevy’s latest diesel option, a 3.0-liter inline-six with 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. All of the 2021 Suburban’s engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is available across the board of six different trim levels.

The Suburban has never fallen short in terms of capability, but some say prior models were lacking in tech. That’s no longer the case for 2021. This futurist SUV has a class-leading 10.2-inch diagonal Chevy Infotainment 3 Plus System. Passengers in the backseats aren’t left out of the fun. An available rear-seat media system keeps occupants happy with two 12.6-inch diagonal LCD high-definition touchscreens. An available built-in 4G LTE WiFi connection and extra USB and USB-C ports let everyone stay charged and connected on long trips.

Despite all of the entertainment technology, safety remains a top priority. To prevent distracted driving, Chevy offers an available 15-inch Head-Up Display to keep your eyes on the road while allowing you to fully access its various features. Standard safety is integrated to the Suburban right off the bat, including useful tech like forward collision mitigation. Drivers can opt for an improved trailer camera system, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and a 360 surround-view system equipped with nine different cameras.

The Suburban’s six trim levels include the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. For the ultimate off-roading features, you’ll want to opt for the impressive Z71. This model has superior ground clearance due to a redesigned front, all-terrain tires to take on any adventure, hill descent control for steep slopes, and a two-speed transfer case for low-range gearing. A front skid plate and tow hooks make the Z71 your best companion for a wild ride.

No matter which model you choose, you can depend on the 2021 Suburban to give you plenty of cargo space, towing, and hauling ability. Slight design modifications have increased the cargo capacity by 23 cubic feet compared to last year’s model, now totaling 144.7 cubic feet. Starting with the base 5.3-liter engine, your Suburban can tow 8,300 pounds. Adding the max trailer package provides an integrated trailer brake controller, hitch guidance, and an upgraded cooling system. Covering every aspect from interior comfort to high-level performance, you’d be hard-pressed to find fault in the 2021 Suburban.

2021 Chevy Tahoe

With a starting MSRP of $53,800, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe has been fully redesigned and refined for passenger comfort. The Tahoe has a max horsepower of 420, nine available camera views, and 122.9 cubic feet of cargo space, making it a tough competitor against other SUVs on the market. Like the Suburban, it also comes in six trim levels, including an off-roading Z71 and a luxury-fitted High Country.

Past fans of the Tahoe will enjoy more legroom in this newer version. Passengers in the second row get an extra three inches, while passengers in the third row get ten extra inches. Additional legroom doesn’t come at the expense of cargo space. This has also been upped to 122.9 cubic feet (compared to 94.7 cubic feet in the 2020 model).

The standard engine on the Tahoe is the same as in the Suburban, a 5.3-liter V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. In this vehicle, you’ll get 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. In the High Country, a 6.2-liter V8 is standard, offering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Also available on every trim other than the Z71 is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel. For the diesel engine, you can expect 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Drivers will also enjoy the 10.2-inch Chevy Infotainment System, 12.6-inch twin HD touchscreens, 4G LTE WiFi, and 15-inch Head-Up Display on a properly fitted Tahoe. All in all, there are several similarities between the 2021 Tahoe and the 2021 Suburban. Both are built on solid truck platforms and have been redesigned to keep up with the more refined SUVs that Americans have become accustomed to. It’ll take a few rounds of test driving to make up your mind between these two winning vehicles.

2020 Chevy Blazer

The 2020 Chevy Blazer is a stylish and modern mid-size SUV. New for 2020 is an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This model is still part of the first generation of the Blazer, which came out in 2019. With a starting MSRP of just $28,800, you’ll get a lot for your money in a handsome Chevy Blazer.

As a five-seater, you might not expect much capability from the Blazer. However, it doesn’t disappoint. Max available towing capacity is a respectable 4,500 pounds, and all-wheel drive is available for both the 3.6-liter and 2.0-liter engines. If you opt for the RS or Premier Trim, an available advanced twin-clutch system improves traction by independently directing torque to the right or left rear wheel as needed.

Chevy’s Traction Select System lets you choose between five driving modes to optimize your ride. These include Tour (which switches to front-wheel drive for better fuel efficiency), Tow/Haul (for heavy loads), Sport (added pick-up for a lively ride), Off-Road (enhances handling using the throttle and chassis control systems), and All-Wheel Drive (for additional traction when needed).

As you might expect from Chevy, there is no shortage of high-tech safety features available on the 2020 Blazer. Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control employs sensors and radar technology to maintain your preferred distance from vehicles ahead of you. To prevent costly crashes, the Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning keeps you from drifting out of your lane with gentle steering readjustments and alerts. Backing up is easier in the Blazer using Chevy’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The rear vision camera screen lights up with warning triangles on the left and right, or if you opt for the Safety Alert Seat, beeps and pulses will make sure you get the message in time.

Furthermore, Forward Collision Alert lets you know if you’re following too closely and a crash is impending. This can especially be helpful in the case of distracted driving, as Chevy’s technology acts as a second pair of eyes on the road to keep you from veering into dangerous territory. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking actually applies to brakes for you to keep you safe. While no technology can substitute the importance of safe driving practices, Chevy does everything possible to protect you on the road.
