As one of the most popular compact SUVs on the road, it takes a lot to make the Chevy Equinox better than ever, yet Chevy keeps finding ways to do just that. The Equinox is the second-most popular model in this lineup, following only the legendary Silverado 1500 pickup, which tells you something about how impressive this vehicle is. Looking at the 2025 Chevy Equinox vs 2024 Chevy Equinox, it's easy to see that Chevy's designers and engineers are never content to rest on their laurels; this is the perfect example of how Chevy takes a fantastic vehicle and improves on certain areas without messing with anything that doesn't need it.
For example, the 2025 Equinox has the same sporty engine as the previous year’s model since it works so well. Beyond that, we see a wide range of upgrades to the Equinox inside and out as it becomes more than two inches wider to allow for a bolder, more planted stance that boosts traction and control. Last year’s four trims have been streamlined to three terrific options, letting you focus on the kinds of features that are most important to you. Best of all, each of these three now has a distinct front fascia and exterior options to set them apart from each other.
Inside the 2025 Chevy Equinox, you will find one of the most impressively appointed and technologically advanced compact SUVs on the road. Last year’s standard 7.0-inch infotainment display has been replaced by a stunning 11.3-inch screen in every model; that is even bigger than the largest option available for the 2024 Equinox. This is joined by an 11.0-inch configurable Driver Information Center and more great features like Google Built-In and a standard six-speaker sound system. Perhaps best of all, the standard safety features in the 2025 Equinox have been enhanced, improved, and expanded.
Looking at the 2024 Chevy Equinox, it has four trim levels, starting with the LS, which acts as a basic model with its standard features. From there, you can move up to the 2024 Equinox LT, which offers some improved features and more options; this gives you the freedom to get a lot of the same starting features but add to them further. The RS has a wide range of improvements with more available features that you cannot get on the LT, plus refined street styling that helps it stand out. Finally, the Premier is the top trim for the 2024 Equinox, coming in with the best standard features and even some high-end features you cannot get elsewhere.
For the 2025 Equinox, Chevy has not only changed up this selection of trim levels but found ways to make them stand out from each other so that each one is more distinct. This is in addition to the fact that the 2025 Equinox is restyled and updated with bold new looks overall, including growing to be more than two inches wider than the 2024 model. Only three trims are now available, starting with the LT, which offers standard features for this new and updated beauty; it has a distinct fascia that sets it apart, and it is offered with a standard chrome front grille or a Midnight Edition High Gloss Black grille finish that further lets you customize the looks of your 2025 Equinox.
If you want more refined options, then the RS trim returns as a fantastic pick that has distinct looks and bold style with wide grille openings and more; we should note that 20-inch wheels are available for the first time ever for the Equinox on the RS trim, further setting it apart from other models. New for the 2025 model year, an Equinox ACTIV is now the top-tier trim that includes unique touches and details inspired by outdoor lifestyles and off-roading; the ACTIV includes a rugged front fascia, distinct styling, all-terrain tires, and an available white roof with a two-tone finish. No matter which trim level you choose, you get a terrific SUV.
Technology has always been at the forefront of the Chevy lineup, and these days, you can find impressive features in every model. Looking at the 2024 Chevy Equinox, a 7.0-inch infotainment display is standard, with an 8.0-inch screen available, though the larger display is standard in the highest Premier trim. Similarly, a wireless phone charger is standard in the Premier, along with a heated steering wheel. You can get this heated steering wheel on lower trims like the LT and RS, while heated front seats are standard on all 2024 models other than the starting LS trim; heated rear seats are only available on the Premier trim. Other tech features like a power liftgate are standard on LT and higher trims, with a hands-free power liftgate on the Premier trim.
Looking at the 2025 Chevy Equinox, it is clear that there is a focus on improving the tech inside, particularly in terms of standard features. This year, every model comes with a gorgeous 11.3-inch infotainment display that offers terrific functionality thanks to Google Built-In. This screen is more than 40% larger than the available 8.0-inch display in the 2024 model and more than 60% bigger than the standard display from that year; this is a tremendous improvement and beautifully illustrates how well Chevy embraces advanced tech.
This large screen is paired with an 11.0-inch configurable Driver Information Center, giving you two remarkable displays that you can easily read while keeping your focus on the road. A wireless charging pad is still available, though the interior has been redesigned with the dashboard pulled away from the driver to create a more spacious interior whose features are arranged in a way that is simpler to use; this includes a new electronic transmission range selector on the steering column that opens up more storage space under the infotainment screen.
Few things are more important to us than how well a vehicle can help protect you when you are on the road. This is one of the reasons we love offering the Chevy lineup for our customers since they are some of the safest and most reliable rides out there. For the 2025 model year, Chevy has outdone itself with the Equinox and it improves on everything we loved about last year’s model and how well it can help protect you.
The 2024 Equinox comes with the Chevy Safety Assist suite standard, which includes things like a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking. This suite also includes Lane Keep Assist with a Lane Departure Warning, a Following Distance Indicator to warn you if you are too close to the vehicle ahead of you, and IntelliBeam auto high beams that switch off to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. More systems like a Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert are available on the 2024 Equinox, but they are not standard.
Looking at the 2025 Equinox, Chevy has increased the list of standard safety tech to an almost incomprehensible degree. You still get great tech like Front Pedestrian Braking (now with Bicyclist Braking), a Forward Collision Alert, and more; in addition, however, the 2025 Equinox also comes with Adaptive Cruise Control standard (previously merely available), as well as Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and Rear Park Assist; you also get Side Bicyclist Alert, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and Enhanced Lane Keep Assist to make the Equinox safer than ever before, making it the perfect SUV to help protect you and your loved ones.
