Along with the Suburban, the Chevy Tahoe is the best-selling full-size SUV on the market, creating two amazing options if you are interested in a large and powerful SUV that's incredibly fun to drive. Between the two, the Suburban is the larger option, so the Tahoe is an amazing pick if you want a full-size SUV but don't need something quite as big. For the 2025 model year, Chevy gave both models a refresh inside and out, making two of our favorite SUVs better than ever. To fully appreciate what this means, it helps to take a look at the 2025 Chevy Tahoe vs 2024 Chevy Tahoe to see how they compare and what is new for this iconic SUV.
From the moment you look at them, it is easy to see that Chevy has given the Tahoe some strong new looks and a revamped exterior that's bold and powerful. Signature lighting and all-new lighting animations help the Tahoe look stunning. Add available 24-inch wheels and you have a powerful piece of machinery that keeps you in control. In terms of performance, you have the same great engines available, though the available diesel engine has been tuned for greater power that brings it to the same level as the legendary Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup.
Inside the 2025 Tahoe, we find a revamped interior that focuses on new, high-end tech. For starters, a best-in-class 17.7-inch infotainment screen is standard in every Tahoe hitting the road for the 2025 model year. The front dashboard has been redesigned for improved spaciousness, while the High Country trim adds incredible refinement with details like authentic wood trim. Safety tech has also been improved, including a new Connected Camera system that lets you view the Tahoe’s cameras on your phone, while available Super Cruise gives you hands-free driving on more than 400,000 miles of roads across the US and Canada.
From the moment you look at the 2025 Chevy Tahoe, you can see that the designers and engineers at Chevrolet have made some evocative changes to this full-size SUV. It undeniably looks different from the 2024 model year, which already looked fantastic. Some of these updates are purely a matter of aesthetics, building on what has come before to enhance the looks of the Tahoe and mark a new approach to its design. Other elements of the 2025 Tahoe’s exterior are more functional, however, delivering an enhanced experience with your vehicle.
One thing that has not changed going from the 2024 Tahoe to the 2025 model is the trim levels that are available: you still find the same six trims in the LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country, which gives you plenty of options to get whatever you are looking for; with the 2025 update, however, all six trims have new front fascias on them, and certain trims have unique design details that set them apart from the others in terms of style. The Z71, for example, leans further into its off-road concept with a high-approach front fascia to provide better clearance and better incorporation of its skid plates compared to last year’s model.
Similarly, the High Country, which remains the pinnacle trim for the Tahoe, has more refined looks and a sport-luxury style featuring black and Galvano Chrome details. With the Tahoe being a powerful, full-size SUV, Chevy has borrowed design inspiration from their Silverado trucks for bolder overall looks. You can find 24-inch wheels for the first time on the RST and High Country trims of the 2025 Tahoe, for example, while the daytime running lights have a more integrated and prominent look to them; you will even find welcome and walk-away lighting animations on Premier and High Country trims.
This inspiration has also led to the available 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine getting the improved tuning found on the Silverado 1500, boosting the 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque found with the 2024 model to 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque with the 2025 Tahoe.
One of the things we love most about Chevy is how they find ways each year to improve on the incredible vehicles they make. We constantly feel like they have hit a high watermark for their cars, trucks, and SUVs, only to be blown away the next year when they outdo themselves. You can see this quite clearly when you look at the interior features and tech found with the 2024 Tahoe and the revamped 2025 model. Some of this will depend on what trim level you choose, but even standard features have been taken to a new level.
The 2024 Chevy Tahoe features a standard 8.0-inch infotainment system with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a six-speaker sound system. Cloth seating with a ten-way power driver’s seat is standard, along with a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center. If you move up to a higher trim like the High Country on the 2024 Tahoe, then you get some notable upgrades such as a larger 10.2-inch premium infotainment system, a Bose ten-speaker sound system, and a 12.0-inch Driver Information Center.
Looking inside the 2025 Chevy Tahoe, the first thing you will notice is the massive 17.7-inch infotainment display that dominates the front dashboard. This stunning screen is standard in every trim, showcasing Chevy’s commitment to providing you with the highest level of tech in your vehicle. This is joined by a standard 11.0-inch Driver Information Center along with a redesigned center console that gives you more storage options; this redesign also puts the available wireless charging pad in a more convenient position.
Details like Victory Red stitching in the RST trim and a new Jet Black/Sky Cool Gray interior for the Premier trim set these two apart from the other trims. Meanwhile, the High Country trim remains the pinnacle of luxury in the Tahoe, with authentic wood décor offered inside the Tahoe for the first time, plus perforated leather seating surfaces and a unique Jet Black/Mocha interior.
Chevy is no stranger to advanced safety tech these days and this is one area where there was not much room for improvement since the 2024 Tahoe already has so much to offer. Every 2024 Tahoe comes with Chevy Safety Assist, which includes a Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and a Following Distance Indicator. You also get Lane Keep Assist with a Lane Departure Warning plus IntelliBeam automatic high beams with the 2024 Tahoe. Advanced safety features on higher trims include things like Front and Rear Park Assist and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.
Looking at the 2025 Tahoe, it's clear that Chevy has taken an “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it” approach and kept what works while adding more amazing features and options. Chevy Safety Assist remains the gold standard for the Chevy lineup, and the 2025 Tahoe comes with Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, a Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Keep Assist with a Lane Departure Warning standard. You also get Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, along with Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and an HD Surround Vision system standard on every trim; both are improvements over the standard features of the 2024 Tahoe.
Best of all, exciting technology like GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system is available for the 2025 Chevy Tahoe. This lets you drive safely with your hands off the wheel across more than 400,000 miles of compatible highway in North America. New tech features are also offered like an Interior Motion Detection system that can detect micro-movements in your cabin while your Tahoe is turned off and send you an alert about it.
The newly available Connected Cameras system creates a fully integrated network of cameras along the interior and exterior of your vehicle with automatic Crash Recording, Live View available through the myChevrolet mobile app, and industry-first cloud storage for added safety and security.
