That's why Chevy offers the 2021 Express Cargo Van in a variety of configurations.
  The two main versions are the Express 2500 Cargo Van and the Express 3500 Cargo Van. Further customization is available through the choice of either a regular or extended wheelbase model. For both versions, the regular wheelbase measures 135 inches, while the extended wheelbase measures 155 inches.

  Weight Ratings

  The Express 2500 has a Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) of up to 16,000 pounds, with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 8,600 pounds. These numbers translate into a maximum payload capacity of up to 3,280 pounds and remarkably good towing. The Express 3500 maintains the same GCWR, but its heavier construction means a higher GVWR. The regular wheelbase models rate up to 9,600 pounds, while the extended wheelbase reaches up to 9,900 pounds. However, the result is the ability to haul a payload of up to 4,280 pounds.

  Seating and Storage

  The standard seating arrangement for both models includes two high back bucket seats. Adding a rear bench seat to accommodate up to five passengers is an available option, helpful if you need to send a full crew to a job site. You can also choose to remove the front passenger seat, opening up more workroom next to the driver.

  The cargo box area measures nearly 52 inches in height and over 50 inches in width between the wheelhousings. The standard offering for both the 2500 and 3500 is a 4.3L V6 that offers a very reasonable 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with direct injection technology and variable valve timing, this engine is reliable and economical.

  A 6.6L V8 is also available. This engine is capable of 401 horsepower, with 464 lb-ft of torque. While it may not be as efficient as the other options, this engine can get the Express van nearly anywhere and allows for its maximum tow rating of up to 10,000 pounds. Finally, a Duramax turbo-diesel engine is also available. This 2.8L 4-cylinder option provides 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque for an excellent balance between power and efficiency.

  Safety and Convenience

  Chevy has also installed several standard safety and driver assistance features on the 2021 Express vans. Airbags are standard for driver and passenger, along with a rear vision camera and tire pressure monitoring system. Further options are available to increase driver safety, including side blind zone alert, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and rear parking assistance.

  As for entertainment while you're on the road, AM/FM stereo with MP3 playback is standard, along with an auxiliary jack for additional media devices and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
