Bigger and more powerful than ever before, the upcoming 2021 Chevy Tahoe is an impressive specimen to say the least. Lengthened and widened to provide extra storage space, this full-size SUV is now offered with a new diesel powertrain option. An independent rear suspension and 10-speed automatic transmission are standard for all trims, and it keeps the truck-based platform that has made it such a sturdy vehicle.

Able to carry seven or eight passengers, this three-row SUV has been extended from 204 inches to 210.7 inches in length. The wheelbase has also been stretched by 4.9 inches, meaning that the legroom for both back rows has greatly improved. Second-row passengers get 3 extra inches, and third-row passengers get a whopping 10-inches of extra room. That’s a 40% increase! This upgrades the third-row from a kids-only row to an adult-friendly one. There’s also significantly more cargo space with the maximum area growing from 94.7 to 122.9 cubic feet. As for the cargo room behind the third row, it measures at about 25.5 cubic feet, which is a far cry from the previous year’s model that only offered 15.3 cubic feet.
