An Aesthetic Package With a Trim to Match Any Driver

Every Malibu, regardless of trim level, has great styling features. The body is sleek and well-sculpted, which is both aerodynamic and aesthetically pleasing. Inside, the cabin layout is designed for comfort as well as beauty, so you can feel good during any drive and impress your passengers with quality materials and thoughtful accents.

However, upgrading beyond the base LS model will get you extra styling touches that give your Malibu a unique look. The RS trim, for instance, features black Chevy bowtie emblems rather than the classic metallic look, as well as black Malibu badges. Within a chrome grille surround, the grille insert is black as well. These dark accents do a good job of complementing any body color you choose. The RS badging, on the other hand, stands out in a bold red, and this trim sports 18-inch aluminum wheels and dual exhaust outlets in the back.

If you opt for the more luxurious LT or 2LT trims, then you can unlock the Malibu’s three available special editions. These feature exclusive elements that come together to create a cohesive look. With one of these, you can really stand out from the crowd with a Malibu that’s all your own. On the 1LT, in addition to extra style, any one of these editions also comes with upgrades like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and LED tail lamps, which are standard on the 2LT trim.

    Midnight Edition

The Midnight Edition is only available in the Mosaic Black Metallic exterior color, giving it a shiny, dark appearance that’s appropriate given its name. Many of its accents are blacked out to blend in with this color, giving the exterior a subtle, textured appearance. You’ll get black Chevy bowtie emblems both upfront and in the back, a completely blacked-out front grille with dark chrome surround, a black Malibu nameplate badge, and 19-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, surrounded by 19-inch all-season blackwall tires. Step inside, and you’ll find the theme continues in the cabin with a Jet Black interior.

    Sport Edition

The Sport Edition features many of the same dark accents offered on the Midnight Edition. You’ll also get black versions of the Chevy bowties, Malibu badge, grille, wheels, and interior. This edition doesn’t have a special exterior paint color, so you can use all that black as a contrast tone against white, red, or another color.

    Redline Edition

The Redline Edition shares some features, like black bowtie emblems, a blacked-out grille, and a Jet Black interior, with the other special editions, but it makes some of its own by pairing the basic black with bold red accents. Its 19-inch black-painted aluminum wheels have red hash marks that attract attention and look great either in park or in motion. The black nameplate badge is accentuated by a red outline. The exterior also sports black mirror caps that feature exclusive Redline graphics. These pops of red stand out nicely against the exterior paint colors available on the Redline Edition: Dark Ash Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Summit White.

  • Safety

    Comprehensive Safety Coverage

Chevrolet’s comprehensive Chevy Safety Assist suite comes standard on all trim levels of the Malibu. This means you’ll get advanced driver-assistance technology, no matter what version you opt for. Here are the features you can find standard on every trim, from the LS to the 2LT:

    • Following Distance Indicator helps you keep track of how close you are to the vehicle in front of you on the
    • highway.
    • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning detects when you’ve started to drift from your lane unintentionally and works to prevent you from straying.
    • Forward Collision Alert warns you when you’re getting dangerously close to the vehicle in front of you.
    • Automatic Emergency Braking can enhance your braking or brake on its own in order to prevent a forward collision.
    • Front Pedestrian Detection looks for potential collisions with pedestrians rather than other vehicles.
    • IntelliBeam Auto High Beams turn on and off automatically based on input from light sensors, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally blinding oncoming traffic while driving at night.

If you’re the parent of a teenager, whether they can drive already or will soon be signing up for driver’s ed, you can make use of Chevy’s standard Teen Driver tech. This feature is fully configurable, so you can pick the settings that work for you. Essentially, the system lets you set limits on some vehicle features (like audio volume or speed) while automatically turning some safety systems on. It includes Buckle-to-Drive, which prevents the driver from shifting from park to drive for twenty seconds if the driver doesn’t have their seat belt fastened. When your teen is back home, you can access the in-vehicle report card to get information on their driving habits and help you coach them as they learn and improve. These settings can be linked up to a particular key fob, which is an easy way to make sure that they’ll be active whenever your teen is driving but won’t be on when you’re the one behind the wheel.

  • Comfort/Convenience

    Seamless Tech Integration

The Malibu’s interior is loaded with comfort and convenience features that will keep you and all of your passengers happy and entertained all drive long, whether you’re running a quick errand or traveling across the country. A large color touch screen is the primary interface for controlling the infotainment system, but there are also convenient steering-wheel-mounted controls that you can use without ever taking your eyes off the road. With available Alexa Built-in, it’s easy to use voice commands too.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility come standard, so you can connect your smartphone to the Malibu’s interface without using any cables and access useful apps from maps to music and podcasts. With an available wireless charging pad, you don’t need a cord to power up either. Whether you’re using your wireless connections to listen to music or you prefer to have a nice conversation while you drive, the Malibu’s acoustic-laminated windshield will keep the cabin nice and quiet, so you won’t be interrupted by outside noise.

Touches That Just Make Life Easier

Keyless open and keyless start come standard, too, so you can keep your key in your pocket or bag instead of having to get it out every time you get in the car. You can even use the key fob to start the Malibu up from a distance with a remote start. That means you can get the AC or heat going before you get inside, getting the temperature just right by the time you’re ready to leave.

The driver’s seat itself can be set just to your liking with the available eight-way power-adjustable seat. Lumbar control can keep your lower back feeling supported, even on long stretches of freeway. Driver memory is also available, so you won’t have to start from scratch whenever you let a friend borrow your car or use valet parking. Just start the Malibu up with your key fob, and the seat will adjust right back to your preferred settings.

Available dual-zone automatic climate control lets everyone have their ideal temperature settings, no matter the weather. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are also available to pack an extra punch of cozy in the face of a particularly cold winter day. On the other hand, in the heat of summer, you can use the available ventilated front seats to stay cool as a cucumber.
