Its name brings to mind the posh ski resorts of Lake Tahoe, so it only seems fitting that a lux SUV shares its name with a rugged yet high-class area. But much the same way the mountains around this famous lake hold hidden depths, so does the 2024 Chevy Tahoe.
The newest Tahoe is built to turn heads, and yet its appearance is surpassed by its performance, safety, and technology. With features to make every drive a delight, the 2024 Tahoe brings together everything you’d want in a full-sized SUV and so much more.
You deserve an SUV with top-of-the-line safety features and a lux interior with a world of music and news at your fingertips. You deserve engines that perform to excellence, and you deserve to smile every time you get behind the wheel. You deserve a Chevy Tahoe.

Three engines can power the 2024 Chevy Tahoe, depending on which trim you choose. The first is a 6.2L Ecotec V8 that churns out a muscular 420-433 hp with 460 lb-ft of torque. Dynamic fuel management promotes efficiency, earning an EPA-estimated 20 MPG on the highway. A ten-speed automatic transmission comes standard with this (and every) engine, and this powertrain comes standard on the High Country trim and is available on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims.
The 5.3L EcoTec V8—which comes standard on the LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier trims—issues a meaty 355 hp with 383 lb-ft of torque. As with the 6.2L, the 5.3L has dynamic fuel management, netting the same EPA-estimated 20 MPG on the highway. The third engine option is a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel, which gets an EPA-estimated 28 MPG on the highway. It pumps out 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and it's an available option on the LS, LT, RST, Premier, and High Country trims.
An available advanced trailering system helps to reduce the stress of towing. Even if you’ve done it a thousand times, you just feel better when you can see the trailer, and this feature uses an in-vehicle app with four camera angles: rear trailer, inside the trailer, transparent trailer, and picture-in-picture. You can also access custom trailer profiles, tire pressure and temperature monitoring, and a pre-departure checklist that will start your drive off with everything in order.
With up to 122.9 cu.ft. of cargo space, there’s plenty of room for luggage, equipment, and whatever else the occasion calls for you to bring along. A hands-free power liftgate will make getting everything packed in as easy as a push of the keyfob. The power-retractable steps will help everyone get settled inside the cabin to enjoy the generous legroom and rear-seat media systems, which give the passengers in the second row their own touchscreens to use with headsets, smartphones, and even portable game systems.
Some vehicles demand our attention. With a robust exterior drawn in sleek lines, the Tahoe was built to command attention. Its grille announces its road authority, while the elongated headlamps add a softness to the rugged front end. The back-end accessories include a chrome strip to hang the Chevy bowtie from, combining style with utility framed by two generous tail lamps.
The Chevy Tahoe has six trims available in 2024. The LS trim comes standard with premium smooth-ride suspension and 18-inch wheels equipped with all-season tires, so you’re ready to face an entire calendar’s worth of weather head-on. The LT trim will make your rides sound better than ever with a nine-speaker Bose audio system. A wireless charging pad will keep your smartphone topped off, while the rearview auto-dimming mirror eliminates dangerous glare.
If you have serious style in mind, the RST is the one for you, with its trim-specific touches, including Victory Red stitching against a Jet Black interior. A monochromatic black grille with Black Ice accents and RST badging and emblems will contrast beautifully against any of the nine exterior colors available for the Suburban, and 22-inch high-gloss aluminum wheels in black complete this excellent ensemble.
The Z71 trim brings red recovery hooks, a skid plate, an available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and black tubular steps. The Premier trim has a major sound upgrade to the Bose surround sound system with ten speakers. It also comes standard with magnetic ride control and safety alert features that target lane changes, side blind zones, and rear cross-traffic.
The High Country is the crème de la crème of the Suburban trims and makes its presence known with a unique grille, sill plates, and interior stitching. It comes standard with the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine, which uses dynamic fuel management to maximize efficiency. The magnetic ride control and four-corner air ride suspension will have you riding in comfort on 22-inch wheels with all-season tires.
In addition, the RST trim has a second package—the RST Performance Edition—that is geared toward giving you the ultimate performance experience. With 433 hp, it has the most horses under the hood of any Tahoe. It has a unique Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) chassis and suspension with police-spec Firestone Firehawk pursuit tires set on 20-inch high-gloss black aluminum wheels. The Brembo heavy-duty front brakes afford a sixty-to-zero braking ability of only 133 feet, and the Torch Red front and rear calipers and black RST badge add the perfect finishing touches to a spectacular SUV.
Technology has come a long way in the auto industry. Many of us remember the excitement of having CD players coming standard in cars, ending the struggles of using a portable disc player with the adapter and hoping it wouldn’t skip at every bump in the road. It seems as if, every year, more and more innovations have made our cars safer, easier to drive, and more enjoyable companions in our day-to-day lives.
The Tahoe has not only followed this trend but stayed at the forefront of it by equipping the latest in technology. A 12.0-inch driver information center will give you all the information you need on speed, temperature, and road conditions. An available head-up display can project turn-by-turn instructions in a multicolor 15.0-inch display on your windshield; this feature can also be used to announce incoming phone calls and be equipped to give safety alerts. The 8.0-inch (or available 10.2-inch) center console touchscreen allows you to program your infotainment options, and the Wi-Fi hotspot and Google Built-In grant you an endless library of music, podcasts, and news programs to enjoy.
Have you ever wanted to take a deep breath and enjoy the scenery without having to keep your hands firmly at ten and two? SuperCruise allows you to do just that on 400,000 miles of compatible roads across the United States and Canada. While you must keep your eyes on the road at all times, alerts will let you know when you need to pay better attention or take control of your semi-autonomously driving car.
The Tahoe has excellent features for performance, durability, and technology. It has a beautiful exterior and interior, six trims, one special trim package, nine exterior colors, and two interior color combinations. But the most important thing the Tahoe provides is safety and security for you, your family, your passengers, and the others that you share the road with every time you get behind the wheel.
Chevy Safety Assist offers six advanced safety features, which come standard on all Tahoe trims. Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking uses sensors to detect a probable collision and will apply the brakes if you don’t have the time to react; this can either prevent a collision or lessen the impact. Front Pedestrian Braking works similarly, warning you of people in front of your Tahoe and then applying the brakes if necessary.
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning will let you know when you’re drifting out of the lane; if you do not respond quickly enough, the Tahoe will make a small correction to keep you in your lane. Following Distance Indicator will give a warning when you are following the car in front of you too closely. IntelliBeam uses cameras and sensors to detect when your high beams are necessary based on time of day, speed of travel, and other factors; it will either turn the high beams on or off depending on the circumstances, helping you get a clear view of what’s ahead of you without impacting the vision of other drivers.
Teen Driver mode helps teach the family’s newest drivers good habits from the very beginning. From making sure seat belts are on to keeping the stereo at a reasonable level and keeping the Tahoe from going above 85 mph, it will offer additional protection as your teen begins their driving years. Rear seat reminders help make sure no one is left behind after you’ve reached your destination, whether they’re small children or pets. Everyone in the family should end every drive safely and securely, and the Tahoe strives to provide features that make that happen.
