  • Overview

A black 2025 Chevy Corvette E-Ray 2LZ is angled left.

For pure performance, speed, and power on the road, few names evoke the kind of exhilarating experience that Corvette does. Since its debut, the Corvette has been a mechanical marvel that challenges what we think a car can do—and the modern era, with its mid-engine Corvette, has taken things to the next level. The hybrid Corvette E-Ray, however, has once again destroyed our expectations and reinvented what we expect from a sports car. The 2025 Chevy Corvette E-Ray builds on the legacy of the Corvette name, and this new E-Ray variant—introduced just last year—has exciting new exterior and interior options, plus pulse-pounding performance that continues to thrill drivers.

First and foremost, the Corvette E-Ray is all about power, speed, and performance. Some people hear "hybrid" and think perhaps this is a Corvette designed for casual, daily driving with excellent fuel economy. In reality, however, what Chevy has done is employ hybrid tech to enhance the raw power of its mid-engine design, elevating things further and creating a powerful sports car that enjoys 655 hp from its gas engine and battery-powered motor. You get electric all-wheel drive (eAWD) with the Corvette E-Ray since it has a motor up front to go along with its engine near the rear, which not only feels amazing to drive but lets you go from zero to sixty in a blistering 2.5 seconds.

This is about as close to a supercar as you can get without spending seven figures on a vehicle, reminding us that audacious power and handling are achievable by an American car company. On the outside, the Corvette E-Ray is everything you could want it to be—a gorgeous modern interpretation of the iconic Corvette design—and there are new exterior hues available this year, including Competition Yellow and Hysteria Purple metallic colors. Inside, a new Habanero interior hue spices things up; if you prefer a Black interior, then new Blue stitching makes it pop like never before. When you combine all of this with a gorgeous cockpit and the available Bose Performance Series 14-speaker sound system, you have a car that demands to be driven and rewards you every time you let it loose.

    Exceptional Power

When you look at any vehicle, the engine and its overall performance are important since you'll want something that is fun to drive. But if you are looking at a high-powered sports car, these things become much more crucial as you are considering the kind of performance it offers. You want to see, above all else, that the engineers who created this vehicle put their passion for speed and the feel of the road into every last bit of it. This is exactly what you find with the Corvette, particularly the Corvette E-Ray and its remarkable performance and engineering.

At the heart of this car is its hybrid powertrain. We heard some fretting from folks when word started going around that Chevy was working on a hybrid Corvette; there were some concerns that a hybrid Corvette would have a focus on fuel efficiency, but those were unfounded. What Chevy has delivered is a powerhouse of raw performance and unbridled speed on a level you will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. For starters, we have a 6.2L V8 engine that has been tuned for truly remarkable performance: 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque just on its own.

But this engine is joined by a powerful motor on the front axle for a combined 655 hp, surpassing just about anything else we have ever seen from Chevy. What is particularly ingenious about this is that the motor is on the front axle, with the engine powering the rear axle, creating eAWD performance that feels absolutely amazing on the road. The precision, traction, and handling of this setup—along with its eight-speed dual-clutch transmission—create a driving experience that has clearly been designed to put a smile on your face and keep it there. This monster can go from zero to sixty in 2.5 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds; plus, you can even put it into Stealth mode, using electric-only power to cruise silently for up to four miles.

  • Exterior

    Gorgeous Aesthetics

Although most performance elements of the 2025 Chevy Corvette E-Ray carry over pretty much unchanged from last year, there are some noticeable exterior updates for this model year. Even without them, however, the exterior of the Corvette E-Ray is stunning with the same bold, sleek design we have come to expect from the modern Corvette. It has a shorter nose than some older Corvettes since there is no engine up front, but this provides you with an enhanced view of the road before you while driving, letting you feel more connected to the pavement and the incredible performance of this car.

Looking at the base trim of the Corvette E-Ray, it comes with 20-inch wheels up front and 21-inch wheels in the rear, giving it a sleek and aggressive stance, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport all-season front and performance rear tires. LED headlamps give the front end a sleek look with excellent illumination at night, and you get body-color heated outside mirrors with integrated turn signals for an added touch of style. Numerous accent details and touches are available, along with engine lighting that shows off the stunning engine behind the cockpit at night—one of our favorite options.

For the 2025 model year, Chevy is coming in hot with some gorgeous returning colors and a couple of new ones. Along with standards like Arctic White, Black, and Torch Red, Sebring Orange is making a return this year, joined by two new exterior colors: Competition Yellow and Hysteria Purple. To go along with this gorgeous Competition Yellow color, Velocity Yellow brake calipers are now available, creating a beautiful combination. This gives you amazing options to choose from so you can put together the perfect Corvette E-Ray to match your style.

    An Incredible Cabin

It's easy to get so wrapped up in the looks and performance of the Corvette E-Ray that you forget about where you will spend most of your time with your car: inside it. The cab of this beauty is unforgettable since it has been designed to surround you when you are behind the wheel, creating a cockpit that almost feels like it was poured into place once you sat down. It provides an incredible experience that is undeniably gorgeous and welcomes you every time you are ready to hit the road.

Inside the standard 1LZ trim, you will find an 8.0-inch infotainment display with Google Built-In, which is canted toward you for easy viewing. The low dashboard gives you an incredible view of the road ahead, and numerous switches and controls were moved to a row between the seats to accommodate this view without removing functionality. A 10-speaker Bose Premium sound system is standard, along with GT1 bucket seats with Mulan leather surfaces and perforated inserts. The flat-top, flat-bottom, leather-wrapped steering wheel immediately reminds you of a race car, and there's a 12-inch Driver Information Center display to keep you aware of everything you need to know.

Looking at higher trims like the 3LZ, you get a number of enhanced interior features, including a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system with stainless steel speaker grilles. You get GT2 bucket seats that are incredibly comfortable and supportive, along with a performance data and video recorder that gives you real-time performance information and video playback, letting you view data when you take your Corvette E-Ray to the track and look for ways to improve your lap times and performance. The 3LZ comes with Nappa leather seating and gorgeous features throughout. A new Habanero interior color scheme is available for the 2025 model year, along with new Blue stitching for the Black interior, creating more beautiful options that let you customize your Corvette E-Ray to be everything you desire.
