The answer isn’t always as cut and dry as it may seem, and there are many different factors to consider when purchasing either a traditional used car or a used SUV. It’s important to recognize exactly what these vehicles do well in order to make a solidly educated decision on the kind of vehicle that you need. Everyone’s daily lives are different, and because of this, different types of vehicles may perform more adequately depending on the workload it’s presented. Traditional cars, such as sedans, excel in many different ways. Sedans are great for everyday travel, especially in cities, and many modern-day sedans that manufacturers produce often retain very respectable fuel efficiency ratings.
Depending on the sedan, many manufacturers also offer hybrid variants for those looking for a cleaner way of getting around and achieving even better mileage. It’s also not uncommon for sedans to include various safety feature suites, and because of this, drivers are often granted a plethora of safety features at a relatively affordable cost compared to many other types of vehicles.
Sedans often hold a maximum passenger capacity of five people, typically seen in the style of two passengers up in the front, and three in the back. Those requiring a third-row of seating will often be drawn to the versatility of an SUV rather than a sedan. It’s ideal for a newly licensed driver to start with a sedan as they’re ultimately reliable and efficient vehicles with a small enough footprint, which makes control easier.
SUVs are also highly suitable for average city and highway travel, much like sedans, but what SUVs tend to excel the most at is additional space for passengers and cargo. In fact, depending on the SUV a customer purchases, sometimes they can seat up to nine passengers, which simply is not possible in any sedan whatsoever. Of course, with a more spacious interior, this means there’s a strong emphasis on transporting cargo, and plenty of SUVs offer a respectable amount of cargo space that can easily carry anything you need it to such as groceries, luggage, etc. If you need to tow, many SUVs are definitely up to the task. While you might have originally been drawn to a truck, SUVs can have a towing capacity between 1,000 and 8,000 pounds or more. With all of that power, gas mileage on SUVs can vary greatly, so it’s important to keep fuel efficiency in mind when shopping for an SUV.
What sedans and SUVs also typically include is a wide array of entertainment and connectivity features, usually through built-in infotainment centers. Many drivers these days look for infotainment centers when they’re shopping for a vehicle, and for a good reason too, as it has completely revolutionized the way we access our media or navigate the roads. Infotainment centers usually include touch screens with sizes ranging from 4 inches on the low end to a whopping 15 inches on the most high-end vehicles.
Alongside infotainment centers, often, vehicle manufacturers will implement a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, which allows passengers to connect their wireless devices. This allows them to stream their favorite music, movies, tv shows, etc. with a fast and stable network connection. Taking connectivity with smartphones even further, it’s not uncommon for manufacturers to include the likes of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These systems allow drivers to access a wealth of their device’s functions like hands-free calls and text messages, audio playback, turn-by-turn directions, and so much more through the vehicle's infotainment system.
Those who require more intense towing with their vehicle will easily be drawn to the sheer power of a pickup truck. Whether it’s for work or a hobby, there are no consumer-grade vehicles that can tow as amply as a pickup truck. There are plenty of manufacturers who produce their own lineups of pickup trucks, and sometimes it can be hard to differentiate the performance between two models. Chances are a customer looking to purchase a pickup truck, either needs or wants a vehicle that can perform towing quite adequately.
When shopping for a used pickup truck, it’s important to keep a few key things in mind. Firstly, you’ll want to find a truck that has an engine that can produce the horsepower and torque output that you require. In addition to horsepower and torque, there are plenty of important factors that should be addressed before purchasing a truck, including its maximum towing capacity, it’s curb weight, and lastly, its maximum payload capacity as well.
The towing capacity is relative to the trailer attached to your truck, and payload capacity has to do with the maximum weight your truck supports, including passengers and cargo in the truck’s bed. Curb weight is a necessity when it comes to fully understand your truck’s payload capacity. What curb weight indicates is how much your truck weighs as is without any passengers on board or cargo in the back. To get accurate numbers on payload capacity, you must subtract the truck’s curb weight by its Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Simply put, if you require the most power out of your vehicle but do not mind dealing with lower overall fuel efficiency compared to sedans or SUVs, then a pickup truck is the way to go. Many pickup trucks nowadays also include infotainment centers, much like sedans and SUVs, which can make on-the-job tasks like making phone calls and getting directions more intuitive than ever.
Not only do we have a great selection of used cars in general, but we also have a carefully chosen inventory of CPO cars for you to choose from. These are used models in the very best shape possible, which have been thoroughly inspected to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance and vehicle condition. In order for a vehicle to be offered as a CPO Chevy vehicle, it must meet the following criteria:
Not only does a CPO Chevy give you peace of mind since you know it is in great shape, but it also comes with a number of additional, tangible benefits. For example, every CPO model comes with a 6-year or 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and a 1-year or 12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty from the manufacturer. So when you choose a CPO vehicle, you know it is trustworthy, reliable, and protected to ensure you get plenty of years of enjoyment from it.
