While you are at our dealership, you can check out the impressive 2014 Chevrolet Impala that has been getting a lot of attention since it was first introduced last year. The latest accolades for the full-size sedan has to do with safety, and we think it’s a pretty big deal. The 2014 Chevy Impala has been given the highest safety rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This recognition by the IIHS makes the Impala the only non-luxury car to earn the top safety rating from the organization. The Impala’s collision warning and automatic braking system were a big factor in choosing the sedan for the top safety pick.

Cameras, radar, and lasers determine if the car is getting too close to an upcoming object, and will audibly warn the driver of the situation. If the driver does not apply the brakes, the vehicle automatically does so for them. While the braking may not prevent a crash, it could help make the crash less dangerous – which is what the IIHS said helped give the Impala the upper hand.
