If you are in the market for used cars, then the 2014 State Fair of Texas is no place for you to be. This week, Chevrolet took the opportunity to introduce a few new concepts to their bowtie brand. It’s not surprise that Chevy chose the stage of the Texas State Fair to introduce concepts like the Silverado Toughnology we told you about yesterday, and the 2015 Colorado Sport Concept.

We have talked a lot recently about Chevy’s latest midsize pickup truck which just became available, and we think that the Colorado Sport is just as worthy of mention as the version available to the public. As you would expect, the Colorado Sport concept is brimming with accessories that would make any outdoor enthusiast happy, and looks rugged enough to please even the most die-hard of full-size pickup truck fans. So, what exactly makes the Colorado Sport so special from the original midsize pickup? Check out some awesome information on the newest Chevy truck below.

2015 Colorado Concept: Why We Love It

From the picture above, you can see that at its most basic level, the Colorado Sport can pack some serious gear and equipment. Equipped with two mountain bikes and plenty of gear for a weekend adventure, the Colorado Sport proves it is worthy of whatever lies ahead. Tony Johnson is the Colorado market manager, and he summed up the purpose of the Colorado Sport perfectly, “It’s a truck for those who need the versatility of a pickup to support their work and lifestyle interests, but don’t need a full-size truck to do it.” The smaller size of the Colorado not only lends itself well to fuel efficiency, but also to maneuverability when you are in more urban settings.

Thanks to the GearOn Accessory System, the Colorado can transform into an adventurer’s paradise – allowing drivers to stow bikes and kayaks above the pickup truck bed, while smaller gear can stow easily underneath. Aside from the GearOn system, drivers can also opt for the following accessories that were all included in the Colorado Sport Concept:

  • Assist steps
  • Cargo rings
  • Splash guards
  • Tiered storage
  • Bike rack
  • Cargo divider
  • Wheel lip moldings.
