2016 Chevy Silverado: Choices Aplenty!

March 22nd, 2016 by

While it’s not necessarily a difficult choice to pursue the new 2016 Chevy Silverado, we’re sure it took you a little while to arrive at that decision. You probably first established that you wanted a pickup, then you zeroed in on a particular brand, and then you finally opted for a specific model.

However, you’re not finished making choices. If you’re buying a new Silverado, you’ll still have several decisions that you have to make, including the color of your truck, the style, and the type of accompanying wheels.

We’ll walk you through the truck-building process for the 2016 Chevy Silverado, so when it’s finally time to make that purchase, you’ll know exactly what you want to include…

Colors

This won’t necessarily impact how your vehicle operates, but the color of your pickup certainly plays a role in how the vehicle is perceived. Plus, it helps differentiate your specific Silverado from identical models. Seven colors will stick around for the current model year, including:

  • Slate Grey Metallic
  • Silver Ice Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Black
  • Tungsten Metallic
  • Autumn Bronze Metallic (extra $395)
  • Deep Ocean Blue Metallic (extra $395)

Meanwhile, three new color options were added for 2016:

  • Red Hot
  • Siren Red Tintcoat (extra $495)
  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (extra $995)

Finally, five colors are no longer available on the Silverado:

  • White Diamond Tricoat
  • Deep Ruby Metallic
  • Victory Red
  • Brownstone Metallic
  • Rainforest Green Metallic

Bodystyle

You’ll now have to choose the style of your Silverado, which will likely be influenced by your specific needs. If you have a large family, you want to opt for the Double Cab, which can fit extra passengers. The Crew Cab options provide similar capabilities, albeit with a longer truck bed.

If you’re not going to be relying on the Silverado to lug around your kids, you may prefer to opt for the regular cab. If you typically use your pickup for work, you may benefit from choosing the long box, which offers more volume in the truck bed.

Wheels

Ah, the wheels. Some car enthusiasts fawn over this part of the vehicle, as your pickup will certainly stand out if it’s adorned with eye-catching wheels. Of course, the wheels also influence how the vehicle operates and rides, and you could even notice increased performance based on your decision.

There are a variety of wheel choices for the Silverado:

17-inch:

  • Painted Steel Wheels
  • Stainless-Steel Clad Wheels
  • Bright-Machined Aluminum Wheels

18-inch:

  • Bright-Machined Aluminum Wheels
  • 18″ x 8.5″ Five-Spoke Black Paint Alloy

20-inch:

  • Chrome Clad Aluminum Wheels
  • Chrome Wheels
  • Polished-Aluminum Wheels

Lots of choices, right? Luckily, you can still expect optimal performance from your new pickup, regardless of the color or wheel options you choose. Each of the models is extremely competent, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a similar driving experience.

Plus, the vehicle is inexpensive. The Silverado 1500 starts at only $27,095, an incredible price when compared to rival pickups. Considering the number of options on the new truck, it’s doubtful that your new ride will be identical to fellow Silverados, making the pickup even more of a commodity!
