Chevrolet is expanding its public safety offerings with the all-new Silverado SSV. The SSV model of the Silverado comes with great features and upgrades that aren’t available on the civilian version of the full-size pickup truck. With the standard upgraded alternator that is typically given to all police vehicles, the SSV also comes with a spare battery to power ancillaries and lights that are needed for policing the streets. The new power supply as well as four uplifter switches in the cabin will be sure to give officers what they need to get the job done right. There is also a 110-volt outlet in the truck, and the common key option is available for precincts, so that all vehicles in the fleet share the same key fob.
The Silverado SSV will still have the same 5.3-liter EcoTec V8 engine, boasting 355 horsepower – which will be more than enough power to help police do their job in emergency situations. Be sure to be on the lookout for the Chevy Silverado SSV as it hits the streets later this year.
