As a new and used car dealerships in Cincinnati, primarily selling Chevrolet vehicles, we are well aware of the fan base surrounding certain vehicles we sell. The Corvette is definitely on the top of a lot of collector’s lists, as well as the sporty Camaro. Both cars provide different elements to the “sport car experience,” and while it seems that the Corvette tends to steal the spotlight most of the time, the Camaro is once again in the limelight.

The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was just named the 2014 Best Driver’s Car by the publication, Motor Trend. The recognition is a great one for the Camaro, as it is the first American-brand car to ever win the award since it was first handed out seven years ago.

2014 Best Driver’s Car

So what exactly does this award entail, and what do the accolades even mean? Motor Trend takes contenders for the award by selecting from new or heavily modified performance cars from the past twelve months. The publication takes the selected vehicles to the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for testing and digitally instrumented laps. High speed driving up and down a 4.3-mile hill on a closed highway are also include in the testing, and Motor Trend scores each vehicle based on how engaging the driving experience is from behind the wheel.

The Camaro stood out to Motor Trend, and was given the prestige of the Best Driver’s Car award of 2014. Editors of the publication had this to say about the Camaro Z/28, “From within, the car reacts immediately and precisely to your commands but doesn’t punish your mistakes. From the outside, the Z/28’s suspension attacks bumps and dips with an unbridled passion for keeping the tires on the pavement.”
