Chevy Fans Name New Camaro ‘Green Flash’

November 13th, 2014 by

As one of the top Chevy dealers in Cincinnati, Ohio, McCluskey Chevrolet likes to hear news about new Chevrolet models since we know it won’t be long until we get one on our lot.

In October, Chevrolet announced that it would be designed a special edition Camaro, and it asked fans to help name it. Thousands of suggestions spilled in through social media, and the automaker revealed the winning name at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last week: “Green Flash,” chosen by fan Jason M.

It’s a fitting name for the sleek Camaro, which has a shiny, Emerald exterior. It also follows in the tradition of a previous special edition Camaro. In 2010, Chevy unveiled a red special edition Camaro — also at the SEMA show — which it named “Red Flash.”

Besides the glossy green exterior, the Green Flash has Cyber Gray racing stripes, a black interior with graphite silver trim, 21-inch chrome wheels, a ZL1 rear spoiler, a sunroof, short-throw shifter, navigation system and ground effects kit. The engine is a 6.2-liter LS3 V8, and it has a six-speed transmission (available in automatic or manual) and a dual-mode exhaust.

The new Camaro won’t be available until the first quarter of next year (which is only a couple of months away). However, it will be one of the last of the fifth-generation Camaros, which Chevrolet is phasing out for a new design. Other special models for the last wave of the fifth generation will include the Commemorative Edition coupe and convertible.

No price has yet been announced for the Green Flash.

In the meantime, Chevy lovers can still pick up one of the older fifth-generation Camaro models or another classic model at one of the many used car lots in Cincinnati. McCluskey Chevrolet maintains a large inventory of Chevrolet vehicles, including Camaro, at all times, and we offer some of the best prices. Come in today to take a look around our lot and fall in love with an older Camaro.
