The 2022 Bolt EV is powered by advanced battery technology in the form of a 65-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that delivers an estimated 259-mile driving range on a full charge, 200 horsepower, and 266 lb-ft of almost instantaneous torque. But, with such a long range, won’t the battery overheat? Chevy truly thought of everything and equipped the battery with an active thermal management system that uses a coolant to ensure the battery stays at its ideal temperature at all times.

#5 Charging Made Easy

Chevy makes charging your EV incredibly easy with the available Dual Level Charge Cord. With the previous Bolt, owners had to purchase a separate charger for their home charging stations. The Dual Level Charge Cord eliminates that need by offering an interchangeable plug that works with a standard 120-volt three-prong outlet for Level 1 charging and a more powerful 240-volt outlet for Level 2 charging. This is a huge convenience for EV owners!

Charging Your Bolt EV in Cincinnati

In the announcement for the 2022 Bolt EV, Chevy confirmed plans to cover the standard installation of Level 2 charging capability for eligible customers who purchase a Bolt EV. The automaker also announced its partnership with EVgo, which is the largest public fast-charging network in America, to triple the number of fast-charging stations across the country by the end of 2025. Both these initiatives are designed to make driving an EV even more attractive to consumers.

When you’re doing business in the heart of downtown, the city of Cincinnati rewards EV owners by offering free parking at all city parking meters, kiosks for street parking, and in one city-owned garage. The same parking meter restrictions apply to electric vehicles in terms of time limits, but the fees are waived. That’s a great offer if you ask us!

Beyond this perk offered by the city, you’ll also find a growing number of charging stations around town, with ChargeHub reporting 136 public stations offering Level 2 and Level 3 charging. This breaks down to 101 Level 2 stations and 35 Level 3 stations, of which 82 are free. The most popular charging stations in the area are located at the 84.51 Parking Garage, Harpers Station, AAA Cherry Grove, and the University of Cincinnati. Other locations include two Tesla-network Supercharger stations.

If you’re traveling beyond the city, you’ll have access to over 80,000 charging stations throughout North America, all of which you can find using the Energy Assist feature on the myChevrolet app. This tool allows you to plan the most efficient route and locate available charging stations along that route. You can also receive real-time alerts about your Bolt EV’s range as well as pay for charging with the swipe of a button.
