Every Feature You’ll Love About the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer
General Motors has crafted the Chevrolet Trailblazer on and off since the 2002 model year. After production paused in 2009, it seemed as though the Trailblazer was gone forever—as if there were no more trails to be blazed—however, in a major plot twist, GM brought the Trailblazer back from the grave, debuting it at the LA Auto Show in 2020. Its design was slimmer and sleeker than the OG Trailblazer.
As you’ll see when you visit McCluskey Chevrolet, your friendly neighborhood car dealership in Cincinnati, this revivified unibody-based subcompact SUV is like the old Trailblazer’s Mini-Me. Manufactured in Korea using the Buick Encore GX’s extended front-wheel drive subcompact platform, the all-new Trailblazer was outfitted with the GX’s 1.2L and 1.3L turbocharged engines. Ever since the Cruze sedan was axed from the lineup, GM has been able to focus on offering buyers a small SUV with a lot of personality in the new Trailblazer.
Now that the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer is hitting the market, buyers are checking out its long list of features and placing their orders. Will you be among them? Well, you just might. Let’s have a look at every feature you’re bound to love in the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer…
For Starters, Here’s the MSRP
Okay, let’s just get this right out of the way: the Trailblazer is affordable. The 2024 Trailblazer has a starting MSRP of $23,100 for its entry-level LS trim. One step up from that is the LT, which starts at $24,300. You can get the sportier RS trim for a starting MSRP of $27,100—or, if you see adventurous off-roading in your future, the ACTIV trim also has a starting MSRP of $27,100. Should you want to get the ACTIV or RS fully loaded with all the best available add-ons, you can expect to pay $31,180.[a]
The 2024 Trailblazer is one of the more affordable options in Chevy’s lineup, and it’s priced to compete favorably in the subcompact SUV segment. While prices climb across the board in the auto market, the Trailblazer remains justifiably priced over its rivals—and with all the awesome features you get with a Trailblazer, that’s a lot of value packed into one small and inexpensive SUV.
An Enviable Infotainment Interface
GM gives each 2024 Trailblazer a sizable 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen interface. This crisp horizontal marvel comes paired with an 8.0-inch driver information display beyond the steering wheel. You can sync your smartphone to your infotainment system using either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay—a wireless connectivity boon that’ll reduce all that cord clutter you’d otherwise accumulate upfront.
By all accounts, the Chevy Infotainment 3 system is easy to use and far from sluggish. Even those who aren’t terribly tech-savvy can use this infotainment system without a big learning curve. Smartphones integrate easily, so you can just as well control your favorite apps right off of your Android or iPhone.
Some Like It Hot
There are some creature comforts equipped on the Chevy Trailblazer that feel truly luxurious. From the ten-way power driver seat with power lumbar on the RS and ACTIV to the available leatherette seat trim, there are plenty of chic features to enjoy. What really stands out, however, are the heating functions.
Heated front seats make their first appearance on the LT trim level. A series of buttons on the climate control panel allow you to cycle through three layers of warmth. Even if you’re not looking to escape the cold, this function can help alleviate sore muscles after an intense workout or a long day at work.
You get a standard heated steering wheel when you move up to the RS and ACTIV trims. One of the controls on the steering wheel’s face is a button to activate a heating element inside your circular handhold, warming quickly and providing relief during those frigid days—an extended period we Cincinnatians know firsthand constitutes roughly one-third of the year.
Off-Roading in the ACTIV
The ACTIV trim is a standout in offering ample off-roading capabilities for a subcompact SUV. Its suspension is well-tuned for rough routes, and 17-inch sport terrain tires turn your wheels into earth-pounders. What’s more, the front and rear lower fascias are titanium chrome-plated for good looks and durability; at the same time, a functional skid plate protects your undercarriage.
While front-wheel drive is standard on all trim levels—including on the ACTIV—you can order this trim with all-wheel drive (AWD). Those who plan on going off-roading regularly will want AWD for that extra edge of traction to keep the Trailblazer blazing trails.
Sportier Styling in the RS
If you are looking for something sporty, the RS trim level might appeal to you the most out of the four. Like the ACTIV, it’s powered by a standard 1.3L turbocharged engine that makes 155 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. This trim rides around on 18-inch High Gloss Black unidirectional aluminum wheels with machined faces, and its front and rear lower fascias have donned black for a more athletic appearance.
Inside the cabin, the RS looks almost identical to the ACTIV. However, the seats are upholstered in cloth and leatherette fabric, as they’re designed to look sleeker than those in the other trim levels. In the ends and accents where the ACTIV yields angular designs, the RS trim instead has rounded, refined, aerodynamic elements.
The Driver Confidence Package
There are a couple of optional packages you can get added to the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer, the best of which is the Driver Confidence package. This one is fairly priced for all it contains, and you’ll undoubtedly find it worthwhile to equip if you have an eye on safety. The Driver Confidence package comprises driver assistance features that will enhance your sense of security as you drive.
This package adds Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist. Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert lets you know when another vehicle occupies a rearward space you can’t otherwise see when you intend to merge or change lanes. Rear Park Assist is a series of sensors that inform you through audio cues about how close you are to another vehicle while parking; similarly, Rear Cross Traffic Alert informs you if a car enters your path while you’re in reverse. These latter two will certainly come in handy in parking lots and street parking.
The Convenience Package
Finally, we have the available Convenience package. Like the Driver Confidence package, the cost can easily be justified since it gives you a list of features that make life on the road easier and more enjoyable. It can be equipped on the LT trim level or higher and includes several key features that can make your cabin more readily usable.
Automatic climate control is included with this package, which makes it a breeze to set and monitor the temperature in your cabin. Also included are a household-style power outlet, an automatically dimming rearview mirror, and several extra USB charging ports.
