Five of the Coolest Aspects of the 2025 Equinox
For years now, the Chevy Equinox has been one of the most popular options in the incredibly competitive compact SUV market, leading the way with bold designs, innovative technology, and much more. Now, with the 2025 model, the gorgeously redesigned Equinox is ready to go further and demonstrate why so many people go looking for a Chevy Equinox for sale when it’s time for a new compact SUV.
We’d be here all day if we tried to list everything we love about this all-new Equinox and the amazing features it brings to the road, so we figured we’d just stick to a handful of our favorite things that really set it apart from what else is out there. So here, in no particular order, are five of the coolest aspects of the 2025 model and just a few of the reasons why this Equinox is ready to change things forever.
#1. The First-Ever Equinox ACTIV
There are three trim levels for the 2025 Chevy Equinox, and while we don’t have time to get into the specifics of all three right now, we have to at least talk about the all-new ACTIV trim. The 2025 model marks the first time the ACTIV has been available for the Equinox, bringing an adventurous, outdoor-inspired option to this popular SUV. Although the Equinox has been redesigned for this new model year, few models demonstrate this or revel in it quite as well as the ACTIV, with looks and features inspired by those of us who are passionate about leaving the city behind and enjoying the outdoors.
The ACTIV features a rugged front fascia with vertical grille inserts and gray metallic-finished accents for a bold appearance that immediately speaks to going on an adventure. The blacked-out badging is one of the myriad details that perfectly demonstrate the way this model is set apart from others; plus, you get 17-inch machined-face aluminum wheels and all-terrain tires for added grip after the pavement ends. A uniquely tuned suspension gives the ACTIV a distinct and rugged ride, with an available two-tone roof for a striking appearance. Speaking of which, inside, you’ll find even more stunning details, including Evotex and suede microfiber seating surfaces with a Maple Sugar and Black color theme.
#2. Different Looks for Each Trim
Although the aesthetics of the ACTIV trim are undeniable, Chevy has shown great care to ensure each 2025 Equinox trim is visually distinct and evocative. Overall, with its redesign for 2025, the Equinox is now more than two inches wider than last year’s version, featuring a planted stance and broad-shouldered look. The proportions of the Equinox are bolder than ever before and this is accented by strong touches like the squared wheel opening and fender flares that all come together beautifully. In addition to this, each of the three trim levels has a distinct front fascia treatment to ensure they all look different from each other.
The LT, for example, has standard chrome details with a Midnight Edition available that offers High Gloss Black grille finishes for an added touch of style. With the stunning RS, you get standard black emblems and mirrors, an available black roof, wide grille openings, and more impressive details. Also of note is that while the LT and ACTIV have 17-inch wheels, the RS has standard 19-inch Carbon Flash wheels with 20-inch wheels available—a first-ever for an Equinox. When you combine these elements with the all-LED lighting and other details across the exterior, you get an SUV that looks stunning and three versions of it that have their own story to tell.
#3. Enhanced, Tech-Focused Interior
For more than a century, Chevy has been making some of the most rugged and capable vehicles on the road, with powerful engines that make them incredibly fun to drive. In recent years, however, Chevy has also become a leader in developing technology that puts many other brands to shame and often leads the industry with these features. What’s even more impressive is that we’re seeing a lot of these remarkable tech features become standard rather than available options. The 2025 Equinox is the perfect example of this, with a tech-focused interior that ensures every moment on the road is enjoyable.
Up front, you get heated/ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad, an impressive 11-inch configurable Driver Information Center display, and a stunning 11.3-inch infotainment screen that is 30% larger than the biggest screen offered on the 2024 Equinox. With Google Built-In and more apps available, this large display is perfect for keeping track of navigation information, playing your favorite songs, and much more. One touch we particularly like is how Chevy has developed a new electronic transmission range selector that removes the need for a range selector between the seats, placing it on the steering column instead so you get more storage space.
#4. Incredible Safety Tech Standard
We’re huge fans of safety technology, and we think it’s one of the most important things in vehicles these days—perhaps, arguably, the single most important thing. For years now, Chevy has set an incredible benchmark with the Chevy Safety Assist suite of driver assistance features, and this continues still. The 2025 Equinox has in this impressive suite a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and IntelliBeam auto high beams.
What blew our minds when we first saw it is the list of additional safety tech that’s standard on every 2025 Equinox. This includes a Rear Vision Camera, a Rear Seat Reminder, Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Bicyclist Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, and Enhanced Lane Keep Assist. With Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Park Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking also included, we’re in awe of just how much Chevy has packed into every 2025 Equinox. This incredible suite ensures you and others on the road are safer than ever, though please remember that no technology can replace safe, careful driving.
#5. All-New Selectable Drive Modes
With so many amazing features in the 2025 Equinox, it’s easy to overlook the kind of performance and driving experience you get with this vehicle. It features a 175-hp turbocharged engine that ensures you have a good time on the road, plus a continuously variable transmission with front-wheel drive (FWD). What we love, however, is that you can also choose an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD), which includes an eight-speed automatic transmission instead.
There are several drive modes available, including Normal and Snow on FWD models, with AWD adding an Off-Road mode for added traction. What’s quite unique here, however, is that—for the first time on the Equinox—you can select between these modes using a rotator on the center console. This gives you greater control to choose the kind of performance that best suits the driving conditions you face.
Do You Want to Hear More?
As you can see, the 2025 Chevy Equinox is truly something special, and it’s redefining everything we’ve come to expect from this remarkable SUV. What’s more, we’ve only highlighted a few of the coolest things about this vehicle, and we didn’t even get into other stuff like the Teen Driver mode that’s standard on every model, the available HD Surround Vision system, or how stunning the new Equinox looks with its available Summit White roof in two-tone color schemes that let you pair it with hues like Reef Blue Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Radiant Red.
Whether you’re interested in a rugged and adventurous ride like the ACTIV or the sporty and sophisticated RS with its flat-bottom steering wheel, there’s a 2025 Equinox ready to deliver.
