After nearly a year of rumors, hype, and all around excitement that has encompassed the Chevrolet Spark EV’s upcoming release, an official production version of the compact electric car has been revealed to the media ahead of the official release. Whether consumers are looking to go “green,” or simply are interested in saving at the pump, the new Spark EV is the perfect all-electric vehicle – and your car dealerships in Cincinnati look forward to having it on our lots!

The car is capable of reaching a 542Nm of torque within an 82 mile span. Most impressively, the Spark can reportedly reach 60 mph from 0 in a matter of 7.6 seconds, and will get an estimated 119 miles per gallon electric. Chevrolet is emphasizing the quiet and smooth ride the car offers its driver, thanks to the rotor and strator that make up the core of the electric motor. With many electric cars, drivers feel like they are driving a glorified golf cart, but the Spark EV test drivers report that the vehicle handles like a sporty sedan. The battery can handle multiple charges per day without it having a negative effect, and the fast charge option can get the Spark’s battery up to 80 percent capacity within 20 minutes time.

The Spark EV is available in a Sport model, as well as an L-mode model, which offers brake regeneration to maximize MPGE’s.  The car retails around $27k, but after government incentives, buyers will drive away in their new Spark EV for just under $18,000 – making it one of the more affordable electric cars on the market today.
