Official Debut of 2016 Chevy Volt Announced
There has been a lot of talk here in Cincinnati and around the United States about the upcoming release of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. Here on the official McCluskey Chevrolet blog, we have talked about the upcoming debut for a while now, without truly knowing exactly when that day would come. It can be hard to be patient when you aren’t even aware of a date, but once that date is released – patience becomes even harder to come by.
We learned that yesterday, when Chevrolet announced when the next-generation Chevy Volt would be officially debuted. Now that we have a date, all we can do is wait…wait…wait.
2016 Chevy Volt Debut
The official location of the 2016 Volt has been released, and will take place at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The announcement was made yesterday by Tim Mahoney, Global Chevrolet Chief Marketing Officer. An actual set date was not named, but here is a break down of the 2015 show dates:
- Press Preview: January 12-13
- Industry Preview: January 14-15
- Charity Preview: January 16
- Public Show: January 17-25
While the debut can come at any time during the period of the auto show, we can guess that it will be revealed ahead of the public show – most likely at the Press Preview towards the beginning of the two week event. If you plan to attend the show, you will still be able to check out the 2016 Chevy Volt in person at the event.
There is no doubt that the Chevy Volt is an impressive car, one that has repeatedly won over the favor of many institutions, and has taken home many awards. The 2014 Volt along has been recognized for its high level of safety, and was recently named the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick+. Volt owners can drive over 970 miles between fill-ups, making it one of the safest and most fuel efficient cars on the road today.
