There are no performance options with this model.

Most trims of the Blazer start with a 2.0-liter Turbo I-4 gas engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine has a dual overhead cam configuration (DOHC) with 16 valves for its four cylinders. The use of a turbocharger helps to boost performance, while the variable valve timing and Stop/Start technology work to reduce fuel consumption. This engine uses spark-ignition direct injection to deliver 228 hp at 5,000 RPM and 258 lb-ft of torque at 1,500-4,000 RPM.

The top-tier Premier trim on the Blazer comes equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 gas engine, also with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is also an option on the RS and 3LT trims. Just like the smaller I-4 engine, it has a DOHC configuration with 24 valves for its six cylinders while using variable valve timing and Stop/Start technology to improve fuel economy. The Blazer with this engine also uses spark-ignition direct injection to give you 308 hp at 6,700 RPM and 270 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 RPM. This is more power than you will get from the 2025 Passport’s V6.

Chevy also gives you a choice of drivetrains on the Blazer: each trim can have either front-wheel drive, which improves fuel economy, or all-wheel drive, which delivers better traction.

The Blazer Burns Less Fuel Than the Passport

If you are looking to get solid fuel economy, then the only choice is the Chevy Blazer. If you opt for a Blazer with the 2.0-liter Turbo I-4 gas engine, you can get up to 25 MPG combined in front-wheel drive, while choosing available all-wheel drive reduces this slightly to 24 MPG combined. This is significantly better than the Passport, which gets an estimated 21 MPG combined.

Even if you choose the larger 3.6-liter V6 on the Blazer, your fuel economy will be better than in a Passport. The Blazer with this engine and front-wheel drive gets 22 MPG combined. While the all-wheel drive Blazer gets the same combined fuel economy as the Passport, it outperforms the Honda when it comes to highway driving; in those conditions, the Blazer averages 26 MPG compared to the 24 MPG combined of the Passport.

The Blazer Has a Great Infotainment System

Every 2025 Blazer has an infotainment system with a 10.2-inch touchscreen. While the 2LT and 3LT trims have the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system, the top-tier RS and Premier trims boast the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with connected navigation. No matter which you choose, you will be able to connect your phones using wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This allows you to make hands-free calls and texts, even if you left your charging cables at home. There is an available wireless charging pad in the Blazer that comes standard on the RS and Premier trims, as well as Wi-Fi Hotspot capability on all trims.

In addition, you can stream your favorite music over the Blazer’s audio system. The 2LT and 3LT have a six-speaker audio system positioned throughout the passenger cabin to improve sound quality. The Blazer’s RS and Premier trims take things to the next level with a Bose Premium 8-speaker audio system; this includes an amplifier, a center instrument panel speaker, and a subwoofer to provide the perfect soundtrack while you blaze down the highway.

If you want the best infotainment features on the Passport, you will need to get the top-tier Black Edition. Its premium 10-speaker audio system is not offered as an available feature on the other two trim levels. The same goes for a Wi-Fi hotspot, as this is not offered on the EX-L and TrailSport trims of the 2025 Passport. The entry-level EX-L is not available with a built-in navigation system either. The Blazer gives you more standard infotainment features while also allowing you to opt for the more advanced items on the lower trims.

The base MSRP of the 2025 Blazer is a very affordable $35,400. This is significantly less than the $42,400 base MSRP on the 2025 Passport. In fact, the base MSRP of the Passport is only slightly less than the $42,800 MSRP of the top-tier RS and Premier trims of the Blazer. So, if you choose a Blazer, you can either decide to get a top trim for around the same price as the entry-level Passport, or you can decide to pocket the savings.
