The new Corvette race car made its debut in Monterey last Saturday

Getting a cheap oil change is never a good idea, especially when the health of your vehicle is your top priority whether you are driving a previously owned older car, or a brand new sports car. When Chevrolet first introduced the brand new Corvette C7 earlier this year, drivers and car fans got excited. Ever since Chevrolet first introduced the 2014 version of the Corvette, the C7, car enthusiasts have been waiting and wondering if Chevrolet would release the racing version of the popular sports car. Answers finally came this past Saturday at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, in Monterey, California.

Hundreds of Corvette fans were gathered at the event last Saturday where the next racing Corvette took an impressive lap around the track at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The sports car that was camouflaged in a black and white checkerboard pattern, raced out onto the track surprising onlookers who were not expecting the C7Rs public debut. The Corvette is the seventh generation, which is where the 7 in its title comes from, while the R stands for racing. While the official race car won’t be racing until January in Daytona Beach, Florida, the excitement in the air on Saturday could not be contained.

What was supposed to be a “parade lap” was instead a full-speed, high-powered race around the track that left no room for questions about whether the new C7R will have trouble keeping up with its competitors. The body of the race car is a dramatic styling unlike any we have ever seen, and come January, the full capability of this impressive car will finally be made known.
