It almost seems unfair to even compare the 2017 Chevy Silverado to other trucks. Built stronger, more reliable, and more resilient than other pickups in its class, the Silverado is destined to leave a lasting impression on the market in the years to come. As amazingly powerful and road-ready as the 2017 Silverados on the lot of your Chevy dealers in Columbus, Ohio may be, what makes this impressive Chevy truck so remarkable is its available special editions and packages designed to make your Silverado uniquely yours.

Special edition Silverados are a time-honored tradition, and every year it seems like Chevy finds more and more ways to craft unique package options to allow drivers the freedom to take on the road in their own way. Whether you’d prefer something super-sleek and head-turning or powerful enough to rip through any terrain, a special edition Silverado can offer the kind of boosted style and power you just won’t find on your standard Silverado model.

Here’s a look at some of the most impressive special edition Silverados available for the 2017 model year. Take a moment and see for yourself just how distinctive your Chevy pickup can truly be.

Alaskan Silverado

Trucks in Alaska need to be tough. Between massive snowfalls, challenging terrain, and the feeling of freedom that comes with open space, Alaska tends to inspire drivers to choose power-packed, off-road ready models fit for pushing through even the toughest conditions. Enter the 2017 Silverado 2500HD Alaskan Edition, a beautifully-styled package featuring 18″ black aluminum wheels, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires and an available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine to make pounding through even feet of snow no issue.

Alaskan Bear graphics on the rear quarter panel and tailgate combine with smoked Amber roof marker lights and a beacon to afford this special Silverado a leg-up when traversing rough terrain – and it’s a distinctive look sure to inspire jealousy in any who sees you roll by. It’s the Alaskan edition, and it’s built to take on the northern climate better than any other truck on the road today.

Realtree Silverado

Outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers everywhere know Realtree as the nation’s top provider of pro-grade camouflage and outdoor-based equipment – perfect for the hunter on the go. That’s why Chevy partnered with Realtree to create the 2017 Chevy Silverado Realtree edition.

This offroad-ready machine is built to be the perfect companion on those weekend trips out to the woods, featuring Realtree exterior graphics to match a smooth black exterior. For drivers who love the feeling of fresh air, there’s never been a better vehicle to make that expedition into the woods a successful and memorable experience.

Available on the Crew Cab LTZ Z71 Silverado models, the Realtree Silverado features embroidered head restraints, camouflage accents, Rancho shocks, a black exterior with blacked-out Chevy bowtie emblems, stylish black off-road assist steps, and bigger, bolder Z71 badging. That’s some serious style to match a strong construction that’s sure to make any hunting trip a moment to remember in your Chevy.

Midnight Silverado

Still afraid of the dark? Enter the 2017 Chevy Silverado midnight edition, a blacked-out beast of a Silverado ready to take on the night ahead. Featuring Chevy’s Z71 Off-Road package to ensure this pickup is as power-packed as it is stylish and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac off-road tires to make sure you can handle whatever’s ahead, there’s sure to be no mistaking which vehicle is the king of the road in this special edition chevy.

Plus, the Midnight edition packs some seriously impressive style, including black 18″ wheels, black bumpers and grille, blacked-out Chevy bowtie emblems, bigger, bolder Z71 badging, and a standard spray-in bedliner. This means your Silverado Midnight will be bringing the heat in both style and power wherever you roam – and that’s something any Chevy driver will appreciate.

Rally 1 & 2 Silverado

When it comes to bringing track-ready power into the spacious style of a Silverado, few models can compare to Chevy’s enviable Rally editions on the 2017 Silverado 1500. Fully decked-out in two levels of race-ready attire and with a performance package to make any competition look like no contest, the Rally Editions of this Chevy truck flagbearer is an impressive option that’s certainly not for the faint of heart. Available in Black, Summit White, Red Hot, and Silver Ice Metallic, the Rally editions turn up the heat and set a precedent for style thanks to a sporty, aggressive look, rally striping across the front hood, and black Chevy bowtie emblems to lend that air of mystery to any road you may roam.

The Rally 1 edition is the more refined of the two, offered only on Custom Silverado models with the Double Cab, featuring super-stylish designs like Rally striping on the hood and sides and 20-inch black wheels for that intimidation factor in the face of any competitor. Or, for those in the mood for something with a bit more punch, the Rally 2 edition steps it up with 22-inch gloss black wheels and 4-inch round assist steps. And since the Rally 2 edition is available on the LT Z71 models with Double Cab or Crew Cab, you can pack your favorite features into exactly the style of Silverado you need.

High Desert

Rolling through dunes and over deserts takes one tough pickup, and Chevy knows that requires some upgrades in order to truly take on the desert ahead. That’s why Silverado drivers can choose the High Desert model, a refined and sporty package that’s quietly reinventing just how durable the Silverado can be. You’ll find the all-new lockable, water-resistant storage unit makes taking those long drives in the desert more attractive than ever, while Magnetic Ride Control – the first on a Silverado – helps you to seamlessly adjust to changing road conditions. It’s a pickup built to ride alongside cowboys, and it’s ready to roll wherever you are.

These are some of the most impressive Silverado options on the market today, but they’re not all that Chevy has to offer. Check out every fantastic option at your local Chevy dealer, and get ready to get moving with your next great special edition Chevy model.

2021 Special Editions Update

It’s been a few years, and a generation change, since we checked in on the special editions of the Silverado that you can get at McCluskey. As such, we thought it was about time that we take another look to see how things have changed. You’ll find a few familiar faces here, as well as some completely new options, and overall the lineup is better than ever. We heard from more than a few of you that you felt the Silverado HD Series had been left out last time, so we’ve correct that in this update – you’ll find special editions for the entire Silverado lineup down below.

A white 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Realtree is shown from the rear parked in the woods.

Silverado Realtree Edition

First up, we have the camo-themed Realtree Edition for the Chevy Silverado, which is perfect for anyone who loves the great outdoors. This special edition features a two-inch factory lift and 20-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac M/T tires that are ready for anything you encounter. On the outside, you’ll find camo graphics on the hood, the rear of the box, and on the tailgate, with camo interior accents to go with them.

The Realtree Edition features a spray-on bed liner with the Realtree logo, black tubular assist steps, and dual exhaust outlets with black rectangular tips. It features a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine that delivers 420 hp for a powerful and stylish ride. You can get this special edition only on the Custom Trail Boss trim for the Silverado.

Silverado Redline Edition

You couldn’t find this one in 2017 – the Redline Edition is a sportier take on the Silverado with a bold design and excellent style. It features red and black accents throughout that add great details without being overbearing. For example, the Redline Edition features 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels with red accents, along with red recovery hooks, and black emblems with red outlines for that added touch. It also has high-gloss black door handles, grille center bar, and red striping on the rearview mirror.

Its high-intensity discharge LED headlamps feature dark bezels, making them functional and stylish, plus this special edition features black tubular assist steps and dual exhaust outlets with black rectangular tips. This one definitely turns heads and makes for a terrific driving experience. The Redline Edition is only available on RST models of the Chevy Silverado.

Silverado Midnight Edition

If you’re looking to dominate and intimidate while going off-road, then you can’t go wrong with the Midnight Edition. This special edition features a powerful black appearance with black badging, bumpers, dual exhaust tips, and grille. It has a 2-inch factory suspension lift with the Z71 Off-Road Package, plus 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac M/T tires. New for this year, you can upgrade that to 20-inch wheels for an even bolder look and feel.

Depending on the trim you choose, the Midnight Edition can come with either a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine or a 6.2L V8 engine. You can find dark bezels on high-intensity discharge LED headlamps, as well as silver-hammer interior trim accents for an exquisite overall appearance. Two trims have the Midnight Edition available: the Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss, both of which are designed for going off-road.

Silverado Rally Edition

Where there were two Rally Editions available back in 2017, things have been simplified now with a single Rally Edition – though you can choose it for two different trims. The current Rally Edition features a bold, street-inspired look with black hood and tailgate rally stripes, along with black badging, bowtie emblems, and other details. You get black assist steps and exhaust tips, as well as high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels.
Depending on the trim you choose, the Rally Edition has either 20-inch or 22-inch wheels and is available in Red Hot, Silver Ice Metallic, and Summit White or Black exterior colors. One trim has a 2.7L Turbo engine; the other trim has this engine, along with either a 5.3L V8 or 6.2L V8 available for you to choose from. You can get the Rally Edition for the Custom or RST trims, letting you take the bold performance of the Silverado to the streets in two different ways.

Silverado HD Carhartt Edition

First, up for the HD Series, we have the Carhartt Edition, which is the definitive special edition for handling the toughest jobs. This edition takes style to the next level, with black badges, grille bar with chrome inserts, and 4-inch assist steps. It features a Carhartt Gold exterior pinstripe and badging, with a Carhartt Brown interior trim, plus a soft roll-up tonneau cover with the Carhartt logo to bring the overall look together nicely.
This special edition is only available in Mosaic Black Metallic exterior color, with body-color bumpers, hood vent, and door handles. It features 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with Grazen Metallic accents and all-terrain tires, letting you go anywhere and look great doing so. The Carhartt Edition is only offered on the LTZ trim of the Silverado HD models.

Silverado HD Z71 Sport Edition

The first of two Sport editions for the Silverado HD models, the Z71 Sport Edition features a body-color grille bar and bumpers, plus high-gloss black door handles. You get black badging, skid plates, mirror caps, and 4-inch assist steps to go with these aesthetic touches to create a sleek and stylish overall look for your hard-working truck. 18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels with mud-terrain tires are standard, though you can choose 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires if you prefer.
Off-road assist steps are also available to not only complete the off-road capability of this truck but to make it easier to get in and out in the roughest terrain. You can choose the Z71 Sport Edition with several exterior colors: Red Hot, Summit White, or Northsky Blue Metallic. This edition is available on the LT and LTZ trims, giving you two great options.

Silverado HD Z71 Chrome Sport Edition

If you like the style of the Z71 Sport Edition, but prefer chrome over black detailing, then consider the Z71 Chrome Sport Edition. This model features chrome door handles, skid plate, grille inserts, and mirror caps, along with body-color bumpers and grille bar. You get 20-inch wheels, available as either machined-aluminum with Grazen Metallic accents or polished-aluminum; either option comes with all-terrain tires.

Depending on the trim you choose with this edition, it has either a 4-inch or 6-inch assist step, both in chrome. This special edition is only available in either Summit White or Black exterior color – though we’re partial to white with all of that chrome. You can get this special edition on the LT or LTZ trim, just like the other Z71 Sport Edition.

Silverado HD Midnight Edition

If you like the powerful style of the Silverado Midnight Edition, but you need the incredible muscle of a Silverado HD model, then you’re in luck. This Midnight Edition features numerous black details: the grille bar and inserts, skid plate, badging, mirror caps, door handles, and more. You get 4-inch black assist steps, with off-road assist steps available if you like to use your Silverado HD for both work and play.

18-inch high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels with mud-terrain tires are standard, though 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires are available. You can only get the Midnight Edition in a Black exterior color, which makes sense, to create a dark and mysterious overall appearance. This special edition is available on the LT and LTZ trims.
