Updated Styling & Trim Levels for 2016 Equinox
Chevrolet is no stranger to the compact SUV segment. With many offerings in that body style throughout the years, Chevrolet has hit it out of the park, again and again with innovation and style. The introduction of the Chevy Equinox back in 2005 was no exception, and the compact crossover has only increased in popularity and innovation. The new 2016 Chevy Equinox kicks off the model’s second decade on the market, and a lot has changed for the compact crossover in just one model year.
What’s New for the 2016 Equinox
The compact crossover may have not received a full work up of changes, but the newest model year of the Equinox has changed enough to notice.
Exterior Changes
The most striking difference to the 2016 Chevy Equinox is the exterior styling. The revisions to the outside of the Equinox gives it a more modern, and an overall crisper look. The front and rear fascias are both completely redesigned, along with the new chrome-accented dual port grille. Updated projector beam headlights are standard across the board, and new LED daytime running lamps accompany the LT and LTZ models.
New Safety Offerings
Another change to the newest Chevy Equinox model, is the addition of some key safety features. Side Blind Zone alert, and Rear Cross Traffic alert, have both been added to the LT and LTZ models. These advanced safety features allow for an overall safer drive, and is a nice addition to the already safe 2016 Equinox.
Interior Updates
The interior of the 2016 Chevy Equinox is widely unchanged, but a new seven-inch touchscreen radio makes its way into the base L, and LS trim levels for the first time. The 2016 Equinox still accommodates up to five passengers comfortably, and comes equipped with plenty of standard features to add to that comfort.
Changes to Trim Levels
Chevrolet has dropped the 1LT and 2LT trim levels for the 2016 Equinox. All new for this year, is the base L model. With a starting MSRP of just $22,600, the 2016 Equinox L is the perfect option for families on a budget. Surprisingly well equipped, the Equinox L model comes with the following standard equipment:
