What a $1 Million Corvette Looks Like
Whenever we get a customer that comes into our Chevrolet dealership in Cincinnati, one of the most important things that they consider is their budget. Buying a car that is outside of your price range typically will not end well, so we like to help our customers find the perfect car to fit perfectly into their budget. Once we have a budget to go from, we look at the “wish-list” of our customer, and find a great vehicle to suit their needs.
While most of us need to operate on a strict budget, there are others out there who just don’t seem to know what a budget actually is. It’s fun to live vicariously through these people, and pretend for a single second that we could drop $1 million on a 2015 Corvette. That’s exactly what one man paid for the very first production C7 Corvette Z06 at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction back in April. Auctioneers estimated that the sports car would fetch $500,000 – but they were off by just a teeny bit. So what does a $1 million Corvette get you? Let’s take a look!
Under the Hood: The $1 Million 2015 Corvette
- This Corvette is the very first produced of the C7 Z06, which lends itself to immediate bragging rights in the eyes of the owner
- Powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine, this Corvette is getting the job done with 635 horsepower, and 645 lb-ft of torque
- In case the new owner wants to race this bad boy, it comes equipped with the suspension hardware and aerodynamic necessities to do just that
- The winning bidder got to choose between a seven-speed manual, or an eight-speed automatic transmission. For race car enthusiasts everywhere, we hope that he opted for the manual.
As with most auctions, the money that was spent on the first Corvette Z06 went to benefit Michigan’s Karmanos Cancer Institute. A double win in our book.
