Are you interested in a 2025 Chevy Equinox but are not quite sure which trim to go with? Do you go with an entry-level trim or a premium one? As you browse through versions of the Chevy Equinox for sale, rely on this trim guide so you can shop with preparedness.

There are three trims available for this five-door compact SUV in 2025, all married to a single powertrain available in different configurations. The Equinox is paired up with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder that makes 175 hp and between 184 and 203 lb-ft of torque. The Equinox is available in either a continuously variable transmission in front-wheel drive or an 8-speed automatic transmission in all-wheel drive.

In front-wheel drive, you have up to 26 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway, while all-wheel drive provides 24 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. You have a max towing capacity of 1,500 lbs and a max cargo capacity of 29.8 cu.ft. in the rear or 63.5 cu.ft. if you fold down the second row. The Equinox seats up to five people across its two rows.

The 2025 Equinox LT

The LT trim represents the start, but it comes packed with all of the necessary features and functions that make it an excellent daily driver. Each of the three trims also comes in an exciting lineup of color options, with both solid and two-tone colors available. The LT trim includes six solid exterior colors, such as Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, Cacti Green, Sterling Gray Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. The two-tone color options for the LT trim include all of the solid colors but with either a Summit White or Mosaic Black Metallic rooftop.

The LT trim comes standard with a manual liftgate, solar-absorbing rear windshield, and 17-inch wheels with all-season tires on the all-wheel drive models. Every trim comes standard with the Chevy Safety Assist, while the LT comes standard with the Convenience Package I, featuring remote start, illuminating mirrors for the driver and front passenger visors, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. You also have remote up/down power windows, LED headlights and taillights, and IntelliBeam high beams.

Keyless open and start comes standard across the trim line, along with rear window defrosters. For the interior, you have three different material options, including Black Cloth, Artemis Gray Evotex, or Black Evotex for the LT. There is a 6-way manual driver seat and a 4-way manual front passenger seat. All trims come standard with the OnStar Basic connected services, along with the Google Automotive Services, 5G Wi-Fi hotspot support, and front and rear row USB ports. All trims come equipped with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and an accompanying 11.3-inch HD touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

You have a passenger sensing system, along with the suite of driver assistance features via Chevy Safety Assist, plus rear center armrests, single-zone climate control, and a remote panic alarm. Additionally, you have carpeted floor mats in the front and rear rows. There is a trial subscription for SiriusXM Satellite Radio that is included with all the trims, but the LT is available with additional packages, such as the Midnight Edition, the Safety Technology Package, and Convenience Package II. These add more luxury, tech, convenience, and style options to the LT trim if that’s what you’re interested in.

The 2025 Equinox RS

The Equinox RS has sportier styling and enhanced convenience features, all while still coming with many of the standard features from the LT trim, such as automatic stop/start, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. However, where the RS differs is in some exterior design alterations, interior features, and even its color options. The RS is available in six exterior color options, including Mosaic Black Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, Reef Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. It is also available in optional two-tone color schemes, with all of the aforementioned solid colors but with a Mosaic Black Metallic Roof.

The RS comes equipped with 19-inch Carbon Flash Metallic machined-face aluminum wheels with all-season tires and features the AutoSense Liftgate as a standard feature instead of the manual liftgate on the LT trim. The RS also features the standard Rainsense automatic wipers and high-gloss mirror caps on the exterior. Another noteworthy feature is the roof rails that come standard on the RS, with the option to add roof rack cross rails to the Equinox. Another really cool feature of the RS is that it comes standard with a heated wiper, where the wiper blades rest on grids that are automatically heated to prevent the wiper blades from freezing and getting stuck on the windshield.

Another added feature to the RS trim is that it comes standard with the Convenience Package II. This includes features like the sunglass holder, Rainsense intermittent front wipers, cabin humidity, and windshield sensor, as well as dual-zone automatic climate control. You have bonuses such as wireless charging for your smart devices and an upgrade with the seating, like an 8-way power front driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support for the black Evotex with red stitching material. You also get the standard inclusion of a universal home remote for opening up the garage door remotely.

If you want to further add value to the RS, there are a few packages that can significantly improve the comfort levels, such as the Convenience Package III. This includes driver memory settings and the added 8-way power front passenger seat with 2-way lumbar support, along with heated and ventilated seats. Alternatively, you can add the Safety & Technology Package, which includes the availability of a rear HD camera mirror, front fog lamps, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and HD Surround Vision, so you can get a better view of the vehicle while driving or while parking.

The 2025 Equinox ACTIV

The ACTIV is the top-of-the-line trim for the 2025 Chevy Equinox. Much like the other trims, it comes standard with a lot of the expected features, with most of the upper-grade content carrying over from the RS trim. However, there are still some very distinct differences with the ACTIV, including the exterior colors. It’s only available in five solid colors, including Mosaic Black Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, Cacti Green, Reef Metallic, and Radiant Red Metallic. Where it differs from the RS is that the two-tone color options include the aforementioned solid colors, but the ACTIV is only available with a Summit White rooftop.

The ACTIV veers more toward the rugged side, which is why it comes with 17-inch Dark Android machined-face aluminum wheels with all-terrain blackwall tires. Like the other trims, you have an LED lighting array with active front upper and lower grille shutters, as well as heated power outside mirrors. All three trims can also be configured with an optional dual-pane power sunroof—and just like the other trims, the ACTIV has all of the standard safety features in Chevy Safety Assist, such as blind zone steering assist, Buckle-to-Drive, Teen Driver mode, side bicyclist alert, and occupant presence detection for the front and rear rows.

Inside, the ACTIV has a unique material color scheme in Black with Maple Sugar that is matched with suede microfiber. Like the other trims, you get all of the standard features, such as a 6-speaker audio system, rear seat reminder, and cargo mats, but unlike the LT trim, you cannot have the ACTIV paired with the Midnight Edition. Additionally, you can add convenience features to the ACTIV, such as a programmable garage door opener, a highway safety kit, or three years of SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription support. Much like the RS, you can also add the Convenience Package III to the list or the Safety & Technology Package.
