6th Generation Chevy Camaro and Trims
The sixth generation of the Camaro kicked off in 2015 and has been incredibly successful, cementing the Camaro as a performance vehicle for everyone. Over the years since its introduction, different trims have been offered and added, so there have been a lot of options available for customers. Keeping track of them all can be tricky, however, especially as you look at some that were only available in certain years.
The original 2016 model had four trims available based on two different levels. There was the LT trim, available as either a 1LT or 2LT, and the SS trim, available as a 1SS or 2SS. Different engines were standard and available on each of these, with a 6.2L V8 engine offered on the 2016 Camaro SS. Other differences between these trims included different tech and performance features: the 1LT and 1SS were mostly distinct based on performance, while the 2LT and 2SS added features like dual-zone climate control and a 9-speaker Bose audio system.
2017 models kept a lot of these features, and the ZL1 trim was introduced, which had a focus on even greater performance. The ZL1 had a supercharged V8 engine for even more impressive power and performance. 2018 models were generally similar to those from previous years, though an Extreme Track Package was introduced for the ZL1 trim, which included unique styling and an adjustable performance suspension.
In 2019, the Chevy Camaro received a redesign for the current generation with an updated exterior and improved interior entertainment features. Many of the great features and options remained the same for 2019, with the 1LE Performance Package offered on more models. The 2020 Chevy Camaro is as good as it’s ever been, and we couldn’t be prouder of what it has to offer. Of course, as this is the current model, you can come visit us at McCluskey Chevy in Cincinnati, OH, today and see it for yourself.
Camaro Wheel Sizes and Tires
Although different trim levels and certain packages have been available throughout the last few years during the Camaro’s 6th Generation, wheel sizes and tire options have been pretty steady. This makes it easy to find the right discount tires in Cincinnati for your vehicle, especially when you take it to a dealership you can trust. Of course, choosing the right type of tire can be a little trickier, but that is why we are here to help.
For the most part, 18-inch wheels have been standard on the Camaro this generation, at least on the LT trims. All-season blackwall tires have been standard on LT trims starting since at least 2016. SS trims, however, have typically featured 20-inch wheels, and they usually come with summer-only blackwall tires to showcase their performance. Although Camaro SS models come with summer-only tires, if you are looking for good discount tires in Cincinnati, we would recommend all-season or winter tires for your vehicle if you plan on driving in poor weather.
The ZL1 trim, which was introduced in 2017, also features 20-inch wheels and summer-only blackwall tires. As this is a track-focused trim, summer-only tires certainly make sense. In 2018, the 1LE Extreme Track Package was introduced, which gives the ZL1 19-inch wheels and comes with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar tires. These are wide tires specifically designed for high-performance and hitting the track, so if that’s your focus, then we would suggest sticking with them when you need replacement tires.
