These Gen Six 2016 Camaro Concepts Are Way Cool
The 2016 Chevy Camaro barely needs an introduction – recently voted Motor Trend’s 2016 Car of the Year, and easily one of the most highly anticipated brands of the model year, this newly-refreshed performance model has burst out onto the scene with a purpose.
Boasting a standard 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft torque 2.0L turbocharged engine, up to the available 6.2L LT1 V8 with 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft of torque, this new Camaro model means serious business on the racetrack and on the road. And with available eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions, the driver maintains total customizable control over the driving experience.
But the Camaro isn’t just turning heads on the track; due to its surprisingly customizable design and plenty of additional performance parts, the Camaro has been a great canvas for both consumer and professional designers. At the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Chevrolet debuted its four newest Camaro concept models, and each one is more impressive than the last.
The Camaro Chevrolet Performance Concept
For those of you who thought the Camaro was already so powerful that nothing could top it, Chevy’s here to prove you wrong with the Camaro Chevrolet Performance concept.
The name speaks for most of the improvements – including a new performance air intake, exhaust system and a red engine cover, as well as a new suspension-lowering kit and a Brembo front brake upgrade kit with six-piston calipers, all of which help improve this concept’s performance even beyond the Summit White Camaro SS it’s based on.
Boasting “Chevrolet Performance” and stripe graphics, a blacked-out panel between the taillamps, concept 20-inch accessory wheels, Jet Black leather trim with Red Hot door accent trim, darkened taillamps, a blade-style rear spoiler, a front fascia extension, an SS grille with red insert, and black front and rear bowtie emblems, this concept is as impressive on the outside as it is on the inside.
Camaro Hyper Concept
The contrast between this concept model’s Hyper Blue Metallic exterior with its new Ceramic White interior includes model-specific heritage-inspired cues, including white rally stripes and “Camaro” fender badges, the rear spoiler from the RS package and 20-inch polished forged aluminum wheels.
A fancy interior finish and a suspension lowering kit help give the Hyper concept a bold stance and impressive attitude.
Camaro Black Concept
If the 2016 Camaro has a “stealth” mode, it must be the Black concept. This model offers a sleek attitude with its fully blacked-out design, from its SS badges and grill accents to the dark tinted windows and black 20-inch aluminum wheels. This mysterious design comes with new performance parts, including exhaust and air intake kits, a brake upgrade kit and the new suspension- lowering kit.
Camaro Krypton Concept
This is not a car to mess with – even if you’re Superman.
Boasting a custom hue finish based on the yellow-green luminescence of Krypton gas, this impressive model actually features electroluminescent paint technology, which allows the driver to activate illuminated bowties on the body sides with the flip of a switch. Boasting a sportier stance than the standard Camaro, this concept comes with 20-inch wheels, high-intensity discharge headlamps custom-trimmed in green, darkened taillamps, unique upper and lower grilles and a rear spoiler, plus available dual exhaust with custom painted exhaust tips.
These are the amazing Camaro concepts that debuted at SEMA 2015. We hope to see more just like this from Chevrolet in the near future.
