How Buying a Box Truck Can Benefit Your Small Business
As a small business owner in Cincinnati, you already know the cost of running a business is high. It seems like you very often have to consider, debate, or negotiate what purchases take priority so that you can budget. The hardest part, it seems, is contending with the reality of running a business: you have to spend money to make money.
You know you sometimes have to spend money on certain useful items that will boost profits and sales and to keep things going. What if one of those purchases was a box truck? Where would you even go to purchase one of those? At McCluskey Chevy, we have box trucks for sale in Cincinnati for small business owners.
Regardless of the type of business you own, from landscaping to construction to food service, you may not consider how owning a box truck can benefit your business. Buying a truck for anything other than transportation might seem like a foreign concept. With a little creativity and research, you might be surprised to learn that there are many things you can do with a box truck.
Can You Market Your Business With Your Box Truck?
One of the best things you can do with a box truck is use it to promote company branding and market to your customers. How can you market with a truck? With a box truck wrap of course!
Cheaper and in some ways more effective than a billboard, a box truck wrap is a portable reminder to current customers and a great first impression to new ones. Many box truck wrap advertising agencies exist, and will happily work with you to provide the imaging you need to get customers excited about your business or product.
The most exciting thing about this marketing strategy is that once you own a box truck and have it fitted with a wrap, your investment is paid off. You killed two birds with one stone with your new rolling billboard.
But What if The Box Truck Was Your Business?
If you’re a creative, thought-driven person, you may have wondered how many portable businesses get started. With the growing popularity of one-stop-shop food trucks and similar food service businesses, many entrepreneurs got creative and took a regular box truck and turned it into a fun food truck.
Many entrepreneurs were able to build their own food trucks successfully without any formal experience. If this is something that interests you, there are lots of resources online for you to check out and figure out how you want to get started.
As the owner and CEO, you should really know the ins and outs of your business. Getting a first-hand knowledge of everything you can do with your box truck and how it can work for you is a huge benefit to you.
What Other Things Can You Do With a Box Truck?
Commercial vehicles are one of the best-kept secrets for business because they are such a huge benefit. They can do just about everything. Most people think businesses that require a truck also require some sort of manual labor such as a landscaper, flower shop, or construction. Another image that comes to mind is a truck that services as a delivery service.
Imagine running a delivery service with your regular get-around? Sounds nearly impossible. You’d have to buy a trailer for larger loads. With a box truck, you don’t have to fuss with trailers. Hooking and unhooking a trailer many times a day is one of the biggest drains on time and fuel economy. Instead of using a trailer, it would be infinitely easier and even more beneficial to, for example, back a box truck into a garage or storage unit and load everything that way. Because they are usually used for moving, ramps and other tools and equipment are available that fit in easily to load up your box truck.
And this is not all just about fuel-efficiency. It simply takes the extra legwork and hassle out of running the day-to-day routines of a typical workday. This allows you to focus more on customer service and other things that help you get the job done. You can be working smarter and faster, getting rid of those little time-sucking tasks that cut your day in half. Think about what all that time adds up to, and how getting that time back could benefit you.
Can I Get a Box Truck Just to Store My Products/Inventory?
They call it a box truck for a reason. A giant box on wheels, it might also remind someone of a portable storage unit. A box truck might be bigger and more convenient in some ways than your typical storage unit.
Imagine how easy it would be to just hop in your box truck after you loaded it up and taking it to a new location. Can you do that with a storage unit? What if you need to make frequent stops in between locations, such as stopping at a store in the middle of the day.
And the box truck can be just as safe if not more so than your storage unit. You can simply and easily lock up the front and the back. Everything you have stored is protected by the elements in the same way. No need to worry about rain or snow negatively affecting your product

I was not aware that I can use a box truck to create a box truck warp and market my business with it as you suggest. Since you did say that I can makeshift it into a food truck, I could also buy a new truck that can do that so I can sell hotdogs. Because you also suggested that they can be used for delivery services, I’ll try to make sure that I can deliver using good ones I’ll buy from a good dealer.
That is nice that you could get a box truck wrap to do some marketing. Maybe it would be good for a company to get a box truck. That is something I would want to have if I were wanting to do deliveries and marketing at the same time.
I really appreciate that you mentioned that with a box truck, you don’t have to mess around with trailers. My uncle wants to start his own company, and he will need to deliver things locally by himself at first. I will make sure he reads these tips so he can choose a good truck to be able to accomplish his goals.
I may be in the market for a box truck. I would need something with the floor as low as possible and long box. I’m wanting to mount a Seamless gutter machine in it and I need at least a 15’ long box. I’m not sure yet what’s available that might fit my needs. I like the trucks that looks like a van in the front or the cab.
It’s great to know that a box truck can be used to store your goods or transport them from one location to another. My uncle is in charge of managing a warehouse, and he has been having a lot of products coming in lately. Maybe he can benefit from a box truck or even a small truck to move the goods from one location to another, so I will recommend him getting one.
