Killer Croc In The Philippines!
There are a lot of terrifying animals in this world we live in. Some people are terrified of spiders (all those eyes!) Other people don’t want to go in the ocean for fear of giant, man-eating sharks. For our money though, one of the scariest animals is the Crocodile. Let us here at Ohio Auto Service give you an example as to why.
This week in the Philippines, a giant crocodile nicknamed Lolong was captured. The monster croc measures just over 20 feet long, and weighs in over a ton. Locals believe that he is responsible for a series of deadly attacks that took place in the marsh Lolong called home.
The residents of Anila, where the croc was finally caught, have mixed feelings. Some are relieved that the killer is no longer on the loose. Others are proud to play host to such an amazing creature. Most, though, are simply worried that there could be more crocodiles of Lolong’s size in the waters around their peaceful fishing village.
The croc has been placed in a brand new eco-tourism park and research center on the outskirts of a nearby town. Lolong has proved to be a sensation, drawings thousands of tourists and raising over 3 million pesos for the park.
It’s amazing that the residents were able to capture Lolong, and it’s admirable that they kept him alive despite the violent attacks. We have to wonder if building a park around him is the best idea though. I mean, we’ve all seen Jurassic Park, right?
