Siri’s ‘eyes free mode’ available in six new Chevy models

Two things are certain regarding the recent evolution of technology. The first is that the automotive industry is booming with new innovation and advancements, and the second is that cell phone technology is unrecognizable from only ten years ago. The things that cell phones and vehicles can do now, is quite simply, amazing. The very fact that users have the world at their fingertips thanks to Smart Phone technology, proves the point. Automakers like Chevrolet have pioneers impressive hands-free phone technology like MyLink, allowing drivers to command their vehicle to complete a multitude of tasks without taking their hands off the wheel, or their eyes off the road. Soon, car dealers in Cincinnati and all over the United States will have one more technological feature to offer Chevrolet drivers, and it involves both vehicles, and cell phones.

Siri, the genius technology that Apple is responsible for creating, is a personal assistant at your fingertips. She can understand full sentences, dictate words into text, and a slew of other impressive tasks. Starting as early as this year, iPhone wielding drivers of the 2014 editions of the Camaro, Malibu, Cruze, Volt, SS, and Equinox, will be able to take advantage of the technology working together in unison. Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, will work with the Chevrolet MyLink system, allowing drivers to access their calendars, dictate messages, and play their favorite songs, all with the sound of their voice.

With more and more state and federal laws being put in place outlawing the use of a cell phone unless it is paired with a hands-free technology, we can’t think of a better time for Apple and Chevrolet to come together.
