If you’ve kept your eyes and ears on the recent news reports, you’ve probably heard some of the buzz surrounding electric vehicles. The question is, what’s the deal with electric vehicles, and why is everybody so excited about them? After all, didn’t we just begin focusing on hybrid and fuel-efficient vehicles? Where did electric vehicles such as the new Chevy EVs come from, and why is everybody so excited about this fancy new innovation? And especially in regards to the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV, why are we all talking about a vehicle that hasn’t even come out yet?

The truth of the matter is that electric vehicles are the way of the future, and as one of the best manufacturers of electric vehicles on the market today, Chevy EVs are absolutely taking the world by storm. Yes, this includes the yet-to-be-released 2022 Chevy EUV. Chevy is once again solidifying its reputation as a trailblazing company, and we predict that in just a few short years, every driveway in America will be home to a fully electric vehicle.

2022 Chevy Bolt EUV

Right now, most of the buzz surrounding electric vehicles has to do with the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV. The EUV name stands for “electric utility vehicle.” In other words, the Bolt EUV is the first fully electric sports utility vehicle or SUV from Chevy. This makes the Bolt EUV a truly innovative vehicle that we should all be excited about. However, it is still built on the same trusty electric powertrain that has been used by the popular Bolt EV for years. This means you are getting a new model without worrying about any first model year issues.

Now the Bolt EUV is not available on dealership lots yet. However, we can expect to see this electric SUV leave production lines by the end of summer 2021 and is not too early to start making reservations for your Bolt EUV. Honestly, that’s not too long of a wait, and this ingenious vehicle will be here before we know it. In the meantime, let’s take a look at what this baby can do – get ready because the list is quite extensive.

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is able to run for an estimated 250 miles before you have to stop and recharge. When you’re ready to charge your vehicle, plugging in is easy as pie – all you need to do is locate a three-prong household outlet and go plug in your vehicle. Alternatively, you can take advantage of installing a basic Level 2 charger at your home. This can be accomplished by any certified electrician, and Chevy is even offering to help cover the cost for eligible customers. The new Dual Level Charge Cord also allows you to switch between Level 1 and Level 2 charging with ease.

The Bolt EUV comes with plenty of fancy technologies that you are just going to love. One of these features is the Regen On Demand, which allows you to engage regenerative braking with the simple tug of a toggle. The energy assist app allows you to keep tabs on exactly how much energy your vehicle is expected to use and helps you find the most efficient route so that you don’t waste a single kilowatt. Furthermore, thanks to Chevy’s new one-pedal driving technology, drivers can accelerate and decelerate using only one foot. Just lift your foot to slow down or apply more pressure to speed up. How can it get any easier than that?

Super Cruise with the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV

One of the new features that are exclusive to the 2022 Chevy EUV is what’s called Super Cruise. Super Cruise is Chevy’s solution to the question of hands-free driving. This feature allows drivers of the Bolt EUV to drive on compatible roads without touching the steering wheel, thanks to detailed LiDAR maps compiled by Chevy. Now instead of stressing about keeping all your focus on the road ahead of you, you can kick back, relax, and let your vehicle treat you like a pampered passenger.

LiDAR mapping is extremely detailed, allowing your Bolt EUV to know every bend and curve of the road as you’re about to approach it, ensuring you have the safest and smoothest ride possible. There are more than 200,000 miles of LiDAR mapped roads in North America already, and Chevy is adding more as we speak, so the odds are good there are Super Cruise compatible roads near you. However, if you want to be sure, just ask the experts here at McCluskey Chevrolet, and we’ll be happy to inform you of any compatible roads in your area.

Why Go Electric?

There are so many reasons to consider going electric, but perhaps one of the most obvious reasons is cost. After all, who wouldn’t mind never spending a single penny on gasoline or diesel fuel ever again? When you opt for a fully electric vehicle, such as one of Chevy’s EVs, that’s the future you are in for.

Imagine the only fuel you ever need to power your vehicle for the rest of your life comes from your walls. Your car will be as inexpensive to run as your vacuum cleaner or your toaster oven. Not to mention, in addition to all the money you’ll be saving by not going to the gas pump, you’ll also be saving oodles of time. No longer do you need to worry about swinging into the local gas station on your way home from work or on your way to taking your kids to school. Over time, that amounts to hours upon hours saved in addition to the thousands of dollars.

Cost and time savings are not the only reasons to opt for an electric vehicle, however. Concern about the environment is also a deciding factor for those considering going fully electric. When you drive an electric car, you no longer need to feel guilty about emissions or pollution put out by your vehicle because there are none. When you drive a fully electric vehicle, you can feel good knowing that you are helping to make your city’s air cleaner.
