Cincinnati Bengals Preseason Schedule Announced

April 10th, 2012 by

Football season is still a summer away but teams have already received their preseason schedules and the Cincinnati Bengals’ is among the most interesting.  The diverse group of opponents has us here at your Used Chevy Dealership Cincinnati eagerly anticipating the coming season before the gridiron has even fully thawed.

The preseason opener is at home for the first time since 2006, with our Bengals playing the Jets.  The Jets have, in recent years, been interesting solely for their antics off the field.  Between Hard Knocks, big mouthed players, and anything that comes out of Rex Ryan, it’s been a tumultuous few years for the organization.  Now, with the introduction of Tim Tebow to the team, we’ll have a really interesting first look at the Jets new dynamic.

The second of the four games is against the Atlanta Falcons.  This is probably the least exciting of the four games but Atlanta is a solid team who has managed a winning record for the past four years and hit the play-offs in three of those.  After Atlanta, the Bengals return home to take on Green Bay.  The Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was voted MVP by a landslide last year and they excel on both sides of the ball.

Finally, the Bengals will be playing the Indianapolis Colts.  Now, if the MVP truly goes to the player who means the most to his team, then Peyton Manning should have been a lock for it last year because the Colts were garbage without him.  They finished the season a miserable 2-14.  The upshot of this is that they get the number one draft pick, so the Bengals will likely get an early look at whoever that happens to be (Andrew Luck).

Of course we are talking about the preseason, so you never know who will actually start or how many minutes they’ll play.  That being said…If it’s wrong that we want to see Tebow and Luck out there every snap, but also want A.J. Green safely locked away in whatever testing facility for super-humans they keep him in, then we don’t want to be right.
