Get Your Chance to Name a New Chevy
The Camaro is one of the most popular used cars in Cincinnati and around the country. Each new model becomes an instant classic, and some of the older models are true collector’s items.
Now Chevrolet is getting ready to debut a new Camaro SS model, but it’s not quite sure what to name it. That’s where you step in.
Chevrolet is inviting fans to send in their suggestions by
tweeting with the hashtag #NameThatCamaro or by leaving a comment on their Facebook page. The automaker will pick the best name and announce it at the SEMA Show in November, when the new Camaro will be unveiled.
If your name is chosen, you won’t win anything, but won’t it be cool to know you helped create a piece of history?
The new Camaro SS is scheduled to start selling at the start of 2015, and it will be debuted at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, which will be Nov. 4-7 in Las Vegas.
The new model is a modified version of the 2015 Camaro. It will come as either a convertible or coupe with 2SS trim. Both versions will be painted in an Emerald Green Metallic color, which will be exclusive to the model. Other features will include high-intensity headlights; LED tail lights; body-color roof moldings, hood extractor, antenna and rear spoiler; chrome dusk 21-inch wheels; and gray rally stripes.
Both the convertible and the coupe will feature black interiors with a silver door panel and details on the dash. The convertible will also come with a black top.
The engine is a 6.2-liter, V8 with 426 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque for the manual transmission. The automatic transmission drops to 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
Optional features will include navigation radio, dual-mode exhaust and a sunroof.
The standard 2015 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS sells for $38,300, and the convertible for $43,400. It is unclear yet how much the special edition model will cost.
