Interactive Heineken Bottles

Will they ever run out of beer gimmicks? It seems that gimmicks have been the main way to sell beer (at least mediocre beer) for the last 5 years or so. It started with the wide mouth cans, then there were blue mountains, then the easy flow top and the spiral glass bottle and on and on. It got pretty old and we though we were done, but now a beer company is coming out with ANOTHER gimmicky beer, but at least this one is interesting. Let us here at McCluskey Chevrolet, your home for the 2013 Chevy Impala, tell you about it.

Heineken just unveiled their design for the new “Ignite” bottles. Essentially, instead of turning blue when they are cold, they light up and strobe when you party. According to the beer maker, the bottles will flash when you take a swig, and pulse along with heavy bass beats. We here at oil change Cincinnati think that actually could be fun, at least at the right venue.

The tech in the beer is nothing to sneeze at. The bottles come with 8 LEDs, a microprocessor, a motion detector, and a wireless network transceiver.  All that hardware just to make your party a little better.

We don’t know whether to applaud or shake out heads.
