Linda Vaughn’s LV-1 sells for $280K at Barrett-Jackson
Some of our younger readers might not be too familiar with the name Linda Vaughn. Back in the mid-1960s, she went by a different name, however. Perhaps the name Miss Hurst Golden Shifter rings some bells? She was known likely by every racing fan in the United States, and then some. This iconic spokeswoman has teamed up with renowned car designer Doc Watson to auction off a pair of Linda Vaughn LV-1 Chevrolet Camaro models, with one convertible and one couple. Well, they were just auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson last week! When we think about cars that should get a lot of loving car and quick oil changes, the LV-1 definitely crosses our mind!
There were only a total of 500 LV-1 Camaros that were produced, with 50 white and gold convertibles, 50 black and gold convertibles, 200 white and gold coupes, and 200 black and gold coupes. None will likely be as expensive as this lovely pair. When the gavel finally made the resounding fall, a wonderful total of $280,000 had been bid. All of the proceeds from this auction will be going to Dreamakers, which is a non-profit that specializes in automotive programs, and The International Kids Alliance Network.
